Replaced 4 toilets with the American Standard Champion 4 because I was tired of always plunging and finding surprises in the bathrooms. We've had the toilets for almost a year and haven't seen a plunger since. They are powerful, quiet and a single flush is all you need. Home Depot installed them and everything has been working beautifully. I highly recommend them.

We just replaced two first generation 1.6 gallon flush toilets in this home built 11 years ago, we having just moved in. Our choice was this product based on experience for over eight years with four other American Standard Champion 4 products. Many times, it took two flushes to do the job at this newer home, sometimes the waterway plugging and requiring a plunger struggle to achieve waste removal. These Champion Right Height Model 4 units we just installed do the job EVERY time and are reasonably quiet during flushing and tank filling as well. They are easy to install, however, take care to make certain not to over-tighten fasteners as directed in the installation documentation. Also, do not use pipe dope or other compounds to connect water supply piping or you may damage the fill valve. Also make certain that you have the needed clearance of nearly 11 inches between the centerline of the bowl mounting bolts and the mop board/ quarter round at the rear of bowl so that the toilet will fit.
These units are good-looking as well as effective flushers. American Standard has a great warranty----it works, me taking advantage of it several times for the Champion 4 toilets in our last home. They are priced right as well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wally American Standard Champion 4 2-piece 1.6gpf
Purchased this toilet thru Home Depot.com and picked up at local store. After some miss-que's with the transportation supplier was able to receive one in good shape. Shipped in two boxes which made handling manageable & brought home in the trunk of my car. Was able to remove old unit and put in this new one all in one day. Love the flush operation of the Champion 4. It hard to believe it works so efficiently while using only 1.6 gal. water or less. Smooth operation with very little noise. Have only use American Standard in my 46 years of home ownership and this new unit tops them all. Ending up purchasing and replacing an additional unit. Would recommend if your looking to improve the efficiently of your toilets. Please note on the 'bone color' unit you must purchase the wax ring and seat separately.

We were looking for a toilet our son couldn't clog and this one has met the test. We used to have to plunge a toilet more than once a week but he hasn't plugged this one.

Champion 4 lives up to all the claims, powerful flushing with low water consumption. I wish American Standard made all their models with this flushing system.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HiHoFlushAway Best toilet I have owned
Flushes quickly and well due to 4 inch inlet. Noise level is acceptable. Great price from Home Depot for the linen color (vs white). Others wanted a lot more just to get the color. I wanted a higher toilet and so got the elongated comfort height (which is lower than ADA height). I sure am glad I did. It is comfortable and I don't "hit" the front of the toilet seat any more. Swishes entire bowl area when flushed, plus gushes at the bottom to eliminate waste quickly. No more watching things spin around.
