I've got almost acre of grass (weeds). I really should have a riding mower, but didn't want to spend the $. So far I'm impressed by how cleanly it mulches tall grass/weeds (over 12" tall in some areas) and how powerful and quiet it is. It has most of the features I was looking for: Tall deck height, 1 lever adjustment, and rear drive. I got the electric start model and I'm surprised how strong the battery is. I'm liking the adjustable handle and the ability to flip it forward and get it out of my way in the garage too. I'm glad I got it. Setup consisted of pulling it out of the box, lifting the handle and adding gas.

Unit will not start by the electric starter. Home Depot will not refund or exchange after only one month of use.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by DOdoms Better than my old Honda
My previous mower was a Honda, which would bog down or cut off in wet grass. It was hard to start, i.e., multiple pulls even after changing the spark plug.
This mower has a higher cutting height, which is great for lawn appearance. I has an electric start, which I love with the exception of having to charge the electric starter. That is not such a big deal, because when I forgot to charge it, the mower started with 1 pull every time. The mower makes short work of cutting the grass. Instead of 2 hrs with my Honda, it takes me 1.25 hrs, which is a huge time saver or at least it feels that way. It even plowed through wet grass without bogging down or cutting off. Maneuverability is great due to the rear wheel drive; handles better than the Honda. It is also faster 3.2 mph vs 2.8 mph for the Honda. The cut is very good, however, when cutting wet grass it may miss a few pieces that I find sticking up the next day.
I am so glad I got this mower and saved money. I was strongly considering commercial mowers such as Exmark, Honda, Graverly, and Toro. This mower had such great reviews I said that I would give it a try since I could return it. I am satisfied with the purchase. I would recommend you try it, and return it if you do not like it.

This is one of the best built self propelled mowers I have purchased. I am 65 years old and have been through quite a few good mowers. At first glance this is the best engineered mower I've ever owned. Oh boy. My first attempt at starting the mower put a grin on my face from ear to ear. One turn of the key and take off. My heart began to thump with joy. The controls were awesome. Over hill and dales efficiency mowing the green blades of grass with the efficiency of a fine pair of hair trimmers. It filled the grass catcher with no grassey residue on my lawn making the first serveral passes look like a flat top; even a manicured look! I released the controls to empy the bag and of course the mower disengages and the engine comes to a halt. After emptying the bag it re attached with ease. Then eagerly went I to the controls to re start this magnificent machine. I turn the key expecting the same awesome results. One crank two cranks three cranks four then the smile on my face fell to the floor.! Christmas was over so I sat by my dog Grover asking how am I going to cut my clover? A reattempt at starting it caused me to glower...can't cut my lawn without any power. Why I asked myself was this marvelously engineered mower unable to start...the most desirable feature of any motorized machine...ease of starting..I give it a zero. I will now phone customer support in hopes of a friendly simple solution that I can rate as excellent. Stay tuned it just may be I can give this mower a higher rating and recommend it to my mother. But for now buy at your own risk.

Took back my non-starting Honda mower and bought this. It does an excellent job of cutting and mulching. It doesn't have an alternator. You have to charge the battery. I like the one handle adjustment for all four wheels. Takes a few cranks to start it. It's pretty heavy which can be a pain when you have to pull it back when mowing under bushes.
