You stick the shaft in the chuck just like you would with a drill bit.

JD,
I believe you have to buy an adapter for it. If you go here http://www.homedepot.com/p/Avanti-Pro-4-in-Drill-Mount-Quick-Strip-Wire-Brush-PWW040WIRD01G/202830914 and look below you will see an adapter in silver, I think that may be the one but you will have to ask Home Depot.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Effective but defective? Very effective at removing rusted layer from metal. In fact, too effective. For the job I'm working on, I need to find something less drastic. The problem with this brush is that it comes with the shaft separated from the brush. When I assembled the tool, I had a really, really hard time centering the shaft in the brush. The two pieces don't fit precisely enough. When I tried to use the brush the first time, it was so off-axis and unbalanced that it made the drill vibrate badly, and the brush was jumping on and off the piece I was working on instead of making a stable contact with it. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not as advertised Did little more than tear things up. I wouldn't purchase again. August 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Did the trick Wire brush was just the right tool for the project. June 28, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by paint stripper It's okay. Must be careful not to use to much pressure, or it will leave gouges in the wood. May 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not for gaskets stripping I used this on a cordless impact for stripping gaskets since I could not find the actual product I needed. It would be faster to do this with the traditional muscle-and-scraper. It does not work well on gaskets and has a really difficult time getting through high-temperature gaskets. Did not work for the application. I will say that it did not damage the base metal in any way. July 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool to remove paint. I needed to remove a large amount of paint from the siding of my house and had no intention of doing all this by using a scraper. The product worked fantastic. This removes the paint with out damaging the wood. I would recommend wearing some safety gear like eye protection, long sleeve shirt and something to cover your neck and face as some of the bristles come off when using a high speed tool. May 9, 2014
