I bought way more than needed for the garage and wondered if this would be suitable for interior trim. It's a rental house so it doesnt need to be pretty.

Answer:
I used it indoors after trying to find a paint that could hold up to heavy use. This one was recommended by people online so I gave it a shot. It doesn't smell which is nice but it didn't hold up like I thought it would from what people said about it. We used it on the trim pieces in our house and bathroom.

Dear Ed,
A primer is only required if you are painting a "bleeding" wood like Redwood, Cedar, Cypress or other “bleeding” woods. These woods contain water soluble extractives which may cause discoloration of white and pastel colors; therefore if necessary, prime the above type woods with one coat of a product such as BEHR PREMIUM PLUS® NO. 436 Exterior Multi-Surface Primer & Sealer to reduce these stains. Below are the preparation and application instructions for using our Barn & Fence Paint.
PREPARATION
Remove stains caused by mold and mildew with a mold and mildew stain removing product. Previously painted, stained or clear sealed wood: Sand all glossy surfaces. If surface is in good condition, apply directly over clean, dry surface. If the latex or oil-based finish has started to crack, peel or flake, use a product such as BEHR PREMIUM™ NO. 64 Wood Stain & Finish Stripper on wood to remove the coating. Rinse thoroughly. Follow with a product such as BEHR PREMIUM NO. 63 All-In-One Wood Cleaner. Scrub, rinse, and allow to dry completely. New, weathered, pressure treated or uncoated wood: Place cloth duct tape in random areas on the bare wood. Press the tape firmly then quickly remove it. If wood fibers or debris are pulled onto the tape, the wood surface is not sound and additional preparation is required as follows: Clean surface with a product such as BEHR PREMIUM NO. 64 Wood Stain & Finish Stripper. Rinse. Follow with a product such as BEHR PREMIUM NO. 63 All-In-One Wood Cleaner at full strength to remove mill glaze and/or loose wood fibers, dirt and other debris. Rinse and allow to dry.
APPLICATION
Use when air and surface temperature are 50-90˚F (10-32˚C). Do not apply in direct sunlight or if rain is expected within 24 hours. Wood surfaces must be completely dry. When working with more than one container of the same color, intermix to ensure color uniformity. Redwood, Cedar, Cypress and other “bleeding” woods contain water soluble extractives which may cause discoloration of white and pastel colors; therefore prime the above type woods with one coat of a product such as BEHR PREMIUM PLUS® NO. 436 Exterior Multi-Surface Primer & Sealer to reduce these stains. Apply with a nylon/polyester brush on smooth surfaces. On rough-sawn or textured wood apply with a 3/4" long nap roller or high quality airless sprayer. For airless spraying use a .015" tip. Keep a wet edge to reduce lapping and help control color uniformity. Always back-brush or back-roll during all application methods. Two coats may be necessary for complete hiding. Apply the second coat only after the first coat has thoroughly dried.

Answer:
Dear Paintpro,
Our Barn and Fence Paint is available in Barn White and Barn Red, it is not a tintable paint. If you would prefer a tintable coating, we would recommend our Solid Color House and Fence Wood Stain that is tintable, allows computer color matching and comes in over 1600 custom colors to match up to the Behr Color Solution Center in your local Home Depot store.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 87 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked perfectly! This paint is the perfect balance between paint and white wash. One quick coat and our fence looks beautiful! May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent coverage. We used this paint on old, damaged wood and were very happy with how well it covered. We are planning to do a second coat, but were pretty stunned with how nice in looked with just the first coat! It was also very inexpensive and since one doesn't need to buy a separate primer, one ends up with only one can of leftovers instead of two. May 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by fence paint I love it quick coating. And wash off easy and it looks great on my fence and yard furniture May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for outside painting The biggest plus is It's primer and paint in one. Easy to apply and it stays very good. Price bellow average. It's ideal for fence and other outside structures. How I know? My neighbors showed me 10+ years old barn and 8 years old fence painted with Exterior Barn and Fence paint. Bough structures look nice still. My fence went through one rain/snow season and looks like newly painted. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Needed to paint our outside wooden fence... It was very convenient to have the paint delivered right to our home. This paint looks great on our fence. This paint was used to paint our outside wooden fence and we are very pleased with the results May 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent value This is a good paint for fences and out buildings. It is a flat paint that goes on easily and has good coverage with the first coat. I would recommend it for those purposes. I bought it as a base coat for my Honeybee boxes and it covered nicely. April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This stuff covers with one coat. Period. Best paint ever great coverage. White is bright clean and covers in one coat. Red looks great and covers better than any I ever used April 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good price. All I know is when I saw the price it was too good to pass up. I needed to paint the trim on our shed which was in bad shape - very weathered and paint almost gone on wood boards. I noticed some reviews state they only needed one coat, on mine I did 3 coats. 1 coat was definitely NOT enough, I could have stopped at 2 but the condition of the wood looked as though it needed 3 coats. Only time will tell how well it will hold up in the weather. March 22, 2016
