Many retailers are selling mowers only to get you in the door thinking you have found a good deal only to find it's no deal at all because it does not come with a charger or battery, close to $200 additional charge.

Our old B&D lasted 4 years until the key wouldn't work. It's still in working condition except for that. (And the new model hasn't changed any that I can see.) But the expense of repair was nearly the same as purchasing a new one. So we got a new one -with insurance. Anymore, if something I buy at Home Depot even hiccups, I call them - immediately. This has made our family a bit spoiled with Home Depot, but our experience has proven it. I'm sure you will be happy with this mower that never seems to wear out. Just inspect it as soon as you get it - and send it back if there's something wrong. Home Depot makes this process seamless, effortless, and convenient. Read Less

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 250 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great mower, but not powerful enough for my corner lot Great mower, but not capable of handling large lots. My corner lot is about 7600 sq ft, and this thing can't handle it. I have to divide mowing into two days, one for the front and one for the back. In peak grass growing season, if I've let the grass get too high, it struggles to cut even with a full charge. I often have to tilt up the front to help it with built-up mulch. I haven't tried bagging, but I suspect it would handle that easier. It's very light-weight and not needing to keep gas/oil on hand is convenient. For tiny lots, I'd absolutely recommend it. Me, I'll be replacing it with a more powerful gas mower soon. June 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very good mower It's quite easy to assemble and operate. Not too heavy to move around and the battery lasts quite a decent time on a full charge. I use it to mow my front and back lawns on a single charge. It surprised me by mowing down large & dense clusters of weed in one go. It does lose some power when you do that but still gets the job done. For regular home use, this is a very good lawn mower with minimal hassles and ease of operation. Ergonomical handle is def a plus. The only con I have noticed so far is that the bag doesn't catch the cut grass fully sometimes. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Mower The only reason we purchased this mower (again) was because the Key in the old one would not fit anymore. Even a new key sent by the factory would not work. We really don't know what to do with the old mower - it is still serviceable, battery is still good (after 4 years), and it worked like a charm. These are the best mowers I've ever had (I'm 76) and am sorry to have the old one just sit there. However, we are pleased to have another, and this time we purchased insurance. I would recommend this mower for anyone looking for a care-free, reliable, no electric cord to get in the way, and quiet battery-powered mower. Except for the key problem, these mowers are reliable and fail-safe. May 31, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Defective parts! Had the feeling it had been out of box and was a prior return. Height adjustment lever didn't work. Plastic cover was cracked Never used and returned. First Black and Decker Cordless Electric mower I purchased worked for over ten years. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet and effective Love it. Easy to use. Bag releases with little effort. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific Wireless Mower! The battery holds the charge very well. I have a large front and back yard and it handles both on the same day! Wireless means it takes about 20 minutes less than manipulating an electric mower with a cord. Would definitely recommend this to anyone. June 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Mower Ever There must be fake reviews on here. I have had this mower for less than one year and the battery is already losing its charge. Plus, you have to leave this plugged in at all times to ensure "optimal battery life", which was not advertised. I did this, and it still did not work, and now is more expensive than a gas mower since it sucks up electricity all the time. It cannot cut worth beans. In fact, it tears more than cuts (and I have replaced the blade and maintain the product well). It doesn't matter if I walk at a snails pace or if the grass is thick, thin, tall, or short. The power from the mower is not enough to cause any lift. I overlap at least 50-60% with more at times and it still doesn't trim evenly. There are pieces left over all over the lawn: leaving an uneven growth pattern. I called the manufacturer and all they said was to go to a repair shop. Except, the repair shop is booked solid for over a month before they could even see my mower. Why? Because they are too busy fixing other Black & Decker products. So I would have had to leave it there and pay someone to mow my lawn for months, but the manufacturer couldn't care any less. Avoid this. I am not sure about other brands, but this one is not worth your time. June 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Battery does not last even 3 seasons I have an older version of this mower. Battery is dead after 3 seasons. I even kept the battery inside in the winter. The mower never had enough power to use the bag even at its peak. I had to operate without it from the start. May 30, 2016
