the first one I picked up at home depot and then tried it in the parking lot----did not work at all----took it back in and they also could not get it to work even with different batteries---they delivered the second one to my house--it is working but the I think the drive has a very slight wobble in it but it is not perfect ----I use it for a kitchen cabinet replacement and had to change batteries about 75 percent into the job---that the only great thing about it---you can replace the batteries--

This battery operated screwdriver is awesome. I was surprised how powerfully it worked. I bought it instead of a drill and I'm glad I did. I've used it to put up towel racks and large pictures.

Cheap and I like the fact that it uses standard batteries. But way too slow to be really useful.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by iReview Great for light duty applications
Will break if used for heavy duty but works perfect for regular household works. The use of 4 AA batteries is perfect so you can use chargeable batteries.

This is very cheap material but it does the job for the cheap price I paid.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RCMoeur Screws things in, screws things out - but buttons could be better
Purchased a pair of these for assembling and disassembling the Pinewood Derby and Brick Derby (Lego) tracks for our Cub Scout Pack. The screwdriver performs adequately under light to moderate load, but refuses under very heavy load, such as long screws in lumber (not a complete substitute for electric screwdriver mode on a portable drill). The biggest peeve (albeit minor) is that the forward / reverse buttons are on opposite sides of the screwdriver instead of the same side as on comparable products from other vendors, leading to inadvertent presses of the wrong button.
Overall, they worked as expected, but could be better - but for the price, they were fine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by piloto Most handy dril driver
It drills well into gyp., plastic and wood with great control and turns Allen bits great for furniture assembly. No. it is not the thing for no 12 screws unless the pilot hole is well made. I broke my old AS600 (predecessor to this) last night; it was my fault, applying hand torque without fully engaging the manual position. But I had it for 6 years as my go to tool for most jobs. Easy to store where one can get it; quick to use. No need to stop work to recharge the battery and AA's are cheap in large 36+ packs. Very useful for the cost.
I might also buy an AD600 to reach better into tight or awkward spaces, but I'll have to shop elsewhere.
Yes, a double stack battery setup would be nice, for more RPM for drilling and more torque for screwing.
So I just ordered this to replace the one I broke. Thanks, Home Depot - it will be at the store before next weekend.
