Customer Questions & Answers

Can the unit be effective outdoors up to 15 feet? Or at all?

Asked by: joseph
It can be used outdoors, but I don't think the laser line would be visible at 15 feet.

B&D Laser Level - Would this gadget be helpful mounting railings onto stairway walls? Not sure how the device mounts onto the wall and whether it assumes that all shots are to be level, vs. shooting on an angle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not one of my better purchases. While this is a good idea, it could be better in practice. Pro: It produces a nice line. Built in levels that are illuminate when the laser in on. Con: No way to level it if you can not use the wall mount that comes with. Forget about using the wall mount if you are trying to mount it on anything other then drywall. I bent the pin trying to use it on a plaster wall. Almost all my walls are plaster, so this limits its usefulness for me. The mount has a nice feature in that you can fold the mount pin flush with the mount. But you can not store it attached to the level with the pin folded. The mount also has angle markings, but the laser tends to shift back to horizontal when you try and set it on an angle. I guess it is for using it mounted to a floor or something... If you are after something to hang pictures all on the same level, then this will probably work for you. It did not work out for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Guy I'm hanging stuff left and right now. It's a great value for $15. Nothing commercial grade obviously but if you're looking to mount a TV or picture frames evenly this guy will do the trick for your average DIYer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked great for drywall I had used mine for just about everything in my home until the pin broke then it was virtually useless. If does have a magnet so if i need the level for something metal I'll be set. Went online and found a replacement part but with shipping in the end buying a new one at my local store was cheaper...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great easy to use especially for hanging pictures Priced well and easy to use especially for hanging pictures. I would not pay to much attention to other write ups. Taking off the magnet and using one hand to hold laser and other hand got marking location. I own two of these one at each house.
