Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BigLiz The Video and Instruction Manual are Incorrect! Time WASTED!
I bought the Black and Decker Workmate (WM125) because I thought would be great for a project I am working on. I liked it before I bought it there was a great video on YouTube to show me how to put it together. I knew it was going to be a piece of cake.
I was very, very wrong.
Your manual and YouTube Video shows a front and back bracket that are the same size. The reality is that front bracket is at least an inch wider on either side (pictures attached). I thought that maybe it was mispacked and was a bracket for one of your other models. The only problem is that your other models do not use this type of bracket.
I called and customer service said they could not overnight a new bracket. They said it could take anywhere from 3 - 10 business days to ship. They told me I could go 20 miles to the "nearest" service center to get another one.
These were my options. Instead, I took it back to Home Depot and exchanged it for a different brand.
The lady at Home Depot and I now THINK we know what was wrong. The directions AND the YouTube video (at 1:08) tell you to install the rear bracket OVER the two legs. Most likely, it should have been installed IN BETWEEN the two legs.
But that was too late for my good taste. It was already back at the store. Black and Decker customer service did not make me aware of this problem when I called for assistance, and then the escalation department took all day to reply to me via the telephone. I was not about to take it home and try it again because of an error in their instructions. When I called the 800 number, there should have been an alert in the system saying that they modified the design, and the instructions are no longer correct.
I've got nowhere with their FB page either. Black and Decker has lost a long-time customer. Since I have to wait 9 days anyway, I ordered one from another company that is rated better and costs less. It even looks like better construction.
Oh well. I guess I'll work on something else while I wait for my new bench to get here.

This was actually the second one I purchased. First one worked great, and still does, but I bought a second as for longer pieces of wood and many of the projects I am working on now work best with two.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lazlo Adequate but not nearly as nice as the original
I have the original 35 year old B&D workmate and use it daily. It is still in great shape. I wanted another workmate to help support longer stock and got this one. Easy assembly and fairly solid however, not nearly as sturdy or easy to fold as the old one. This one has a plywood top also used as the clamping device. The new plywood seems less strong than the old which appears to be phenolic.
This workmate has plastic clamping devices to secure the legs, not as secure as the old locking mechanism. The rubber feet are not secure, I used 1/2 inch self tapping screws to hold them onto the legs.
Price was good, probably less than the original 35 years ago, and the unit is functional. I would recommend it to anyone needing a versatile small bench with clamping abilities.

You have to assemble this unit from the ground up. Unclear instructions. Does not feel very strong. I would not trust it to hold any substantial mass. I believe this unit would collapse if you loaded it any where near the listed limit. Recommend folks staying away from this purchase.

Assembly requires careful attention to instruction details. Minimal amount of actual labor required thereafter.

Otherwise it is a good product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kevin Sturdy, lightweight solution
This table gives you a lot of versatility. Even though it's lightweight, it is quite sturdy, and you can move it just about anywhere, as it folds up.
The assembly was really easy, even for me!
For the price, you can't beat it.

Was easy to assemble, but too small for most of my projects.
