Did a fall planting to my lawn (large area) which was in a just ok condition right before a 3-4 day rain. Had a noticeably thicker lawn within 8 or 9 days. Color is an emerald green and looks real good after the first cut.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by John Very impressed with the coverage and high yield.
I needed to till my entire yard last fall and was too late to seed anything but a winter grass and this fit the bill. 2 bags of this seed covered a large area in my backyard. I watched it grow for about three weeks and it turned a barren waste land into a field of Irish green that lasted all winter long here in Memphis, TN. It is still green and happy, but will die soon due to the heat we experience here in the summer, but erosion control was my goal and this performed AWESOME!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lonzo Best grass seed I have used
I lost over half my yard last year and again this year before I found out I had a lawn fungus.i planted this seed and Scott's tall fescue at same time about 3 weeks ago this seed came up in 4 days the Scott's well it's yet to be seen.and it's about the same price be bad homedepot does not sell this in store available only on line ,it takes a couple weeks for shipping.but well worth the wait,I have wasted a lot of money in last two years on high dollar grass seed and not see much results.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HB2NtheBurg Best I've seen in Virginia Coastal Area
This seed is very small and covers a much larger area than a tall fescue. It germinated quickly and thrived during the winter months. This is my second purchase to over seed the majority of my lawn and not just the areas that are hard to grow grass in. It's the best I've seen for Virginia and I have tried many.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by grod good seed, fine blade requires more seed to get a nice dense lawn
a decent grass seed and I appreciate the free shipping so thanks home depot on that. What i do notice is that versus a kentucky bluegrass lawn is that you need to seed a little heavier to get a nice dense lawn because of the finer blade structure on ryegrass. Also the first season I noticed once the lawn was established it would yellow out a bit more then the neighbors and the spots that grew faster would be very green. When the grass was a few inches tall it was green and the spots the grew slower was more yellow until it got taller. When i kept it cut at a height i like wasn't as green as i hoped. I think this is because it was a new lawn and the roots weren't real deep yet to keep the grass moist enough during dryer periods. I am on the second season now so we will see. Check out the attached photo and you can see it is much more yellow then the neighbors kentucky lawn. This seed is suppose to be a very dark green genetically and a tolerate a lower mowing height then bluegrass so we will see. If it greens up this year and stays green i'll be happy. If it doesn't i'll be real disappointed. You can also see in the photo that i could use more seed to get a more dense lawn.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by greenthicklawn Great seed!
All I did was throw this seed down on a short cut very weedy lawn. It came right up very fast and almost every seed germinated. You can't really see from these sunny pics but the grass is actually a dark green color and thin leafed. If you have good soil and water frequently this grass will do you very good. Highly recommend this seed!
