Home Depot and Lowe's both carry the fluid packs. The fluid is dilute sulfuric acid. Careful, it will burn your skin if you get any on you. It will eat holes in your clothes too.

I took my old battery to Pep Boys (auto supply store) and they gladly took it. I would think any auto supply place that sells batteries would accept them. Call first to make sure they will accept, before you lug that heavy old battery around.

Assumption is made in answers that the charging system is working properly. A 12V battery charger, as for a car will register whether the battery is, in fact, charged and can charge it fully. Using a charger of this type is not recommended as an "all time" hookup if it is charged. The system will maintain it if the battery is good.

Most of the time our batteries will be at 70-80% charge within 30 minutes of activating the battery with acid. There is no need to charge the battery externally prior to use as the system will charge it up the rest of the way to 100% and keep it fully charged.

Purchased a new battery 4 years ago but it was never used , actually still in the box until recently when existing watchdog battery finally died. Put battery fluid in new one and attached it to watchdog system but battery alarm still sounds and can't get it to stop even after reset button has been pushed. All connections are good.

When I disconnected mine, I touched positive and negative leads that attached to battery together. Very quickly. Don't let them stick. That reset my alarm.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Acid required I'm sure product is fine. Wasn't clearly explained that battery acid was a separate purchase. Adding acid to cells to equivalent levels was a bit difficult. August 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk believe me I'm trying to help The pump the battery are junk, you could do better with a straw. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by does the job second purchase of this product - lifespan seems to be about 3 years - wish it lasted longer - seems like planned obsolesence August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Battery for sump pump back up system This battery is made to work with sump pump back up system. My only issue, and it would probably be the same for any battery of this type is the requirement to add water periodically to the battery cells. The last time I filled the cells with water, the cells were nearly dry so the probe that is to remind you with a beep to add water was not functioning. The lack of water may have shortened the battery life some, but I got 5 years out of the last one which was the same brand. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lasted 5 years - never did anything I know a number of views were negative on the battery. I kept my off the ground and never did anything (never added water, etc..) and it lasted 5 years. Not sure what to say, except I am going to buy another one, and hope it lasts another 5 years. Overall, I would highly recommend this product and overall system. Easy to install overall, and protects both on power outage and issues if your main subpump fails. June 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Long lasting. Never had a problem. They last about five years. Keep them serviced and charged they work as stated. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Replacement The new replacement battery is a good value and was easy to install. Just wished the acid was easy to install to activate the battery. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Direct replacement This was a direct replacement for our aging battery. Good to know we will have backup power . April 14, 2016
