Answer:
You can, just keep in mind the maximum lift. You want it to be high enough above the water level to splash in order to oxygenate the water. The max 80gph means it will pump a maximum of 80 gallons per hour. You don't need to pump the whole 125 gallons every hour.

Answer:
There is one or two that are solar powered. If it's just for a bird bath, that would be perfect.

Answer:
No - they require a wired connection.
As with anytime you're mixing water and power, use a grounded connection.
3 wire cord and a GFI circuit would be safest.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 95 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Needed for your fountain I needed a pump that would fit my fountains. The manufacturer gives you one when you purchase the fountain but they don't last long. This one works much better and is really pumping out the water. July 31, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by fountain pump it took me 2 hours to remove the old pump and install the new pump and it did not work...I need to return it for another,,,but what a huge time waster!!! October 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good brand Easy to install. However it needs tubing that should be sold with it or somewhere in the store. Instead, you must go to an aquarium store to purchase the tubing. Also, a filter and charcoal and screen. It should all be available in the store. September 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Improved product - appears to have better insulation. This fish tank air pump appears to be a stronger and better assembled product than previously manufactured. It also appears to have better insulation than earlier models - therefore - reducing possibility of electric shock while near water. September 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pump Item works as advertised. So far so good. There is nothing more to say. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent , it pumps more water in the fountain than my previous pump I have had several pumps during the life of this fountain and this is the best one, as far as the amount of water it pumps out. August 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid little pump Works great in a small container fountain. Quiet and pushes a strong stream of water. Price was decent August 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little fountain pump It's a fountain pump made for a very small fountain. Last one lasted many years and this was its replacement. August 9, 2016
