Customer Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the $99- and the $129 version of this saw?

Asked by: Anonymous
I think the $99.00 version of the saw was back when it was on sale, with the blade on the left side, which I prefer, and no case of any kind, and the $129.00 version was with the blade on the right side with a soft side bag case. Prices on the 2 saws have changed since 2013, but are still great prices.

This saw is called "lightweight", but the weight is listed as 14 lb, which is the heaviest I have seen for any saw of this type. Can 14 lb be correct?

Asked by: Bill
No, that's not correct. The saw weight alone is only 10lbs as stated by Bosch. (14lbs must be the shipping weight)

Is this saw made in the USA?

Looking to replace our recently damaged Craftsman circular saw, but prefer one manufactured in the USA. Thanks!
Asked by: my3sons
the saw is made in China. Very high quality though. I also would prefer it was made in the USA.

15 Amp Corded 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw with 24-Tooth Carbide Blade is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw! We have had this saw for about a year now and have ran it through many types of materials. It has always performed very well. Couldn't be happier with the power or quality of this saw.

I've gotten used to left bladed cordless saws for trim work, but cordless doesn't have enough power for ripping. The 15 amp motor has enough power to rip a treated 3/4 ply panel. I am disappointed that the edge guide was not a part of the saw. Every other saw that I have purchased included the guide and the hold-down screw. I guess money is tight all over, even for tool makers. In the tool makers defense, I tried to use saws that had been used on construction sites. None of them come back to the shop with the edge guide. I think that is due to one person who should be using an axe instead of a saw. If I could just find where he is throwing the guides.

I prefer a left side blade circular saw, because I find it much better to see the cut line, since I'm right handed and this saw fits the bill. I like Bosch products, and have had this circular saw about 3 weeks now and it met all my expectations as to the quality I wanted and power in a Bosch product. I'm not new to circular saws, so I know a quality product. I would have preferred a magnesium base, but that is not a problem. It's smooth handling and powerful cutting and great line of site lead to a perfect cut . I've used it quite a bit in the time I've had it, doing a lot of remodeling work and would suggest the use of this product to anyone. If your in the market for an electric circular saw, you won't be disappointed with this one. I only would have liked better, if it came with a hard sided case, as it comes with no case at all. I do believe you can get a case for it, as an option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easily gets the job done! I have used my Christmas gift many time already and I am both, pleased in the quality, and impressed with the ergonomics, safety features, and how durable (I will test it!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always wanted a left blade saw Very happy with saw so far (only got it 3 weeks a go)-- very powerful--wished it came with a case or bag. Saw dust port is a pain but a piece of tape over the hole solved that. No blade brake on saw but my old saw didn't have one either so I'm used to being extra carefull.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! Can a saw be sporty? That's how this feels to me when I'm using it. It's pretty basic as far as features and it's also very well thought out. I do wish it had the same baseplate and positive detents on depth and angle adjustments as the CS10 but those are not in any way a hinderance to the saw. Everything seems to be in just the right place with the controls and handles. A left blade saw for right hand user is a really nice feature for the way I cut. In fact, I sometimes hold right blade saws left handed when using them for cuts. I don't have any problems with the dust chute blowing dust onto me because I happen to stand behind where it blows on shorter cutting situations and I stand directly to the side of the saw in longer ripping and crosscutting situations such as making cuts on sheet goods and then the dust blows more behind me. Either way, it blows the dust more downward than most saws I've used.
