I bought one of these and was using it for neat light cutting work. The battery life for it was like 20 minutes. It broke less than a month after I bought it. I got a replacement from Bosch. They were good about that but the new tool also broke in a short time. I would not recommend this tool for anyone; at least for light cutting.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mickie Wish I had this tool 20 years ago!
We decided to update the kitchen on our 15 yr old home along with a few other updates to bring it into the 21st century. This tool handles grout like soft butter, from past experiences I thought for sure I'd be replacing the drywall behind the old backsplash, nope, with the grout tool and scraper attachment I just needed a little spackle to fix the odd 'Oops', that saved me a lot of time and money. Also, the saw blade was incredibly accurate when notching out baseboard & window casing/trim to allow for the removal of the old & installation of the new cabinets. I read a lot of reviews before buying the Bosch, I was not disappointed! Something to note... my painter, cabinet installer & granite counter installers, all had the exact same Bosch Multi tool in their tool bags! I'd say that speaks volumes about Bosch, this is the one the pros use :)

This tool replaced a dremel rotary tool because the dremel burnt out after only removing grout from three 12x12 floor tiles. The bosch multi-tool has performed as expected. This tool is corded so there is no concern about running the battery down and adding a delay to the chore at hand. A heavy duty tool at an affordable price is a hard combination to beat. I am looking forward to using the other features that this tool offers.

This is one of the best oscillating tools on the market. After thoroughly researching all of the oscillating tools, I found the Bosch to have the best quality and value on the market. I was enticed by Rockwell's Sonicrafter, however it did not come with an adapter for blades from other brands. In addition, the user reviews on the quality and expense for replacement blades was poor. I have been throughly satisfied with Bosch's performance and quality. Having a oscillating tool is a must for any prop or DIY. It's versatility allows for the pro or DIY'er to get the job done in a timely and efficient manner. I bring this tool with me to any job because I always seem to find a use for it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DaveG How did I go so long without THIS TOOL?
I don't know about other oscillating tool brands as this is my first but all I can say about this one in one word is AWESOME!!! We purchased the $159 2.5 amp kit. Used it for the first time in a partial bathroom remodel. It did a super job of cutting out rough in holes in drywall, carefully cutting away existing framing for rough-ins, trim work, etc.. Wish they had these years ago when I was a contractor. Totally blew away my expectations! Buy one, you will feel the same!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Boschfan Love this tool
I bought this multitool because I was looking for something a little more heavy duty than the Dremel, but not quite as expensive as the Fein Multimaster. The Bosch corded mulit-x is definitely worth the extra coin over the the Dremel. A lot of reviews on the Dremel mentioned that the tool would get extremely hot for extended use and the dremel was a little under powered. This tool has more power than the Dremel and never got hot the few times I used it. I used this to cut a notch in a piece of 3/4 in pine and it went through it like a hot knife through butter. It feels heavy duty as do the blades, and comes with an attachment to use other manufacturer's blades. I think this tool has many of the Fein multimaster features for half the price.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by toolnut sanding paper keeps slipping
Used this tool for detail sanding. Sand paper keeps slipping and after paper is removed for replacement the material sticks to the pad, causing the next piece to stick poorly. I'm sure it will work well for other applications and like all other Bosch tools it is built well, but sanding is in my opinion disappointing.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by timbo Excellent tool -just like all my other Bosch tools
The job of removing grout was a bear but, this tool made it sooo much easier. After doing my research the others would have burned up in no time at all. Most people dont know that other brands can't handle extended single time use and arent covered under warranty for over heating. Bosch laughed at the grout as it ripped through effortlessly. Bosch wasnt much more than the others either. I am a proud owner of Bosch tools and I am more than happy to promote their name. Some day I will change out my house appliances to Bosch too.
