If you are looking for an aggressive bit that will go through anything, this is it. If you're looking for nice clean holes, this isnt it. Looks like a shotgun blast through the hole, whereas what I need is clean holes. However, if you are looking for something that will last even longer than your typical nail eater bits, this will suit you just fine.

Used this bit to drill through 120 year old timber framing. Went through without a problem. Other bits ww used burnt out after one hole. This onw drilled 6 and still works. Worth every penny.

It drills quickly and pulls itself through without much effort. It does not have any issues when it hits a nail or screw. It jumps a little but not much. Once you break through you do need to push a little the bit does not self feed ones the screw tip breaks through.

I bought this drill bit to replace old worn out ones and get my AV business moving forward. I often am running wires through walls and need to create larger or new pathways. This bit makes that job fast & easy! I try to avoid nails because they aren't good for any drill bit, but so far this beast isn't showing any problems. I've used it on a couple of jobs and drilled quite a few holes and expect to use it on a few more at least.
I look at all my tools as a job cost. Even if I only use a tool once, if it makes me more money than it costs, it's worth it! This bit earned it's keep on the first job. Now, it's just money in the bank. In my business, where labor rates are at a premium, saving an hour is significant! This bit is one of my best workers! I expect to buy more.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jred The quality you would expect from Bosch
I've been happy with most of the Bosch drill bits I've used over the years, and so far this is no exception. It's tip lets you start your drilling location precisely, and it drills easily through wood. The base that attaches to the drill is hex-shaped rather than round, so you know it the drill will grab it without slipping. This drill comes in a nice plastic case you can use to store it in, so it won't be rubbing against other things in your tool box.
One thing to be aware of is that the total length of this drill bit is 7.5". You're going to loose about 1.5-1.75" of that into your drill for holding it, and there's about 0.75" at the tip used for starting the drilling process, so you can only go a little over 5" deep for actually drilling a 1" hole. Also note that the maximum-rated speed for this bit is 600 RPM.

This is one will do the job if you need to drill a 1" hole and if you happen to run in nail it will cut it like it wasn't there. The case that it comes with is nice. It's reusable and keeps if from bagging around in your tool box. Can't wait to use it again in my next bathroom project.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Repairer Easy to use
The fiberglass insulation was really easy to use AND it did not fly apart as it often did in the past when installing. Also, the guy in the store helped me to figure and advised on which type I needed, size, and told me not to buy higher rating because all I had were 2 x 4s so I needed the R13. When I finished I had less than one piece left and even with the metal roof you can hear a pin drop in a heavy rain storm.
Main thing is the quality of the people working at Home Depot.
