My gutters run along the top of my soffits to the downspout along the side of my house. Near to the ground, I connected the downspout extension to the downspout from the gutter and have the extension downspout directed away from our house. It sounds like you have a newer home, where I have seen the downspouts running below grade and drain out to the front curb area of the street? Read Less

Answer:
For correct water flow, you want the downspout going INTO this downspout extension. So, in your case, you'd fasten this downspout extension to the OUTSIDE of your 3x4 downspout. If this is confusing and you can visit a HD store, obtain a 3x4 downspout and this downspout extension. Once you see them side by side you'll know if this is what you need. Yes, it can be painted. It's a thin plastic. I'd use spray paint or exterior paint.

Answer:
No. It fits a 4 inch pipe. To fit a 3 inch pipe you'd need to purchase a 4-inch to 3-inch adapter. But this was an excellent question. Too bad the specifications didn't include this information.

No. Strictly Rectangle...I think they do have round extension downspouts in the Plumbing Section that can help you? Just not positive if one end is rectangle and the other end is round?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well This down spouting worked really well to allow for it to be placed on the back-side of a difficult to reach post July 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I was looking for Perfect for my drainage situation and very pleased with item July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Solution To Drain Water Away From Your Foundation I have this installed on the back side of my house attached to the drain spout so the water is drained away from the foundation. As you can see from the photos the pipe can be extended bent or angled so it is very versatile. I gave it a four star rating because when I extended it there was a hole in one of the ribs but it's not a deal breaker. The pipe also has a large end and a smaller end so it will fit different size downspouts. December 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Downspout with extension Downspout seems durable. Keeps water away from house well. Had two already and went back for the third. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy Excellent...Sturdy...Reliable...price is right...easy to install..no leaks..weather proof... June 21, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Downspouts The downspout did divert the rainwater somewhat. It needs an extension to get the water from back flowing under my house. I wish it had been about 20 feet long. So I will give a 2 star rating. I have had to dig it down below the grass line so we can run the mower over the gravel I have laid on top of the drain line. It has helped drain the flow from it going under the house, but It needs to be directed further out from my house. June 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Durable downspout, and the flex housing is very useful The downspout came in a couple of colors, I was able to get in brown which matched my house color scheme. The flexible spout allows me to direct the water for the best runofff. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brown Downspout Extensions The pieces were easy to cut and piece together and are working well. December 29, 2015
