The Shutter Locks were exactly what I needed. I had replaced my house's original shutters with original manufacturer (Mid-America) replacement shutters and shutter locks and I wanted to use the shutters I took down on the back windows of my house. I ordered Shutter Locks from Home Depot hoping they would be close to the quality, color, and look of the original manufacturer's shutter locks. The Shutter Locks from Home Depot were excellent!, They are as good or better than the original manufacturer's item. The color matched the original shutters perfectly. The quality of the Shutter Locks was excellent. I did not break a single Shutter Lock installing them. If I did not know better, I would say that the Shutter Locks I ordered from Home Depot were the original manufacturer's item. I am very pleased with the Shutter Locks I purchased from Home Depot.

Listen, you only buy these when you need them, and they're pretty much the only game in town. You'll have to paint them whatever color you need them to be and then put painter's tape over the head before you bang them in. Make sure you use the primer plus paint or the color will come off when you peel the tape. For what they are, what they cost and what they do, it would be tough to find better.

Easy to use, not expensive. The only fastener that was the proper color. The problem is that they don't hold up well. Have replaced at least 20 over the past 5 or 6 years because they keep on snapping. Not sure - could be the cold weather in winter that causes them to become very brittle.

I was attempting to replace the old ones that broke, but once these are about halfway into the hole, they begin to bend and will not insert any further. I tried everything I could think of, but fighting with these fasteners from the top of a 32 foot extension ladder was becoming dangerous. I'll return these and use reliable concrete anchors. I'll probably save some money.

The old "shutter spikes" became brittle over time (13 years) and some of them broke and needed replacement. The only issue with installing the new "spikes" was getting parts of the old "spikes" out which I solved by drilling into them. The old "spikes" either broke into pieces or pulled out with the drill when I drilled into them and then the new "spikes" pushed into place for a secure fit.
