Product Overview

The CAMO Hidden Deck Fastening System works on most treated lumber, hardwood, cedar, composite or PVC deckboard. CAMO Hidden Fasteners, a CAMO Marksman tool, and CAMO Driver Bits combine to deliver a fastener-free deck surface at a price that makes getting the job easy and installing the deck even easier. The CAMO Hidden Deck Fastening System is engineered to work exclusively together. Using other branded tools, fasteners or bits will impair performance and won't produce the desired results.

  • For use with most nominal 2 in. x 6 in. (1-1/2 in. x 5-1/4 in. to 5-3/4 in.) solid or grooved deckboard
  • Includes everything you need for a 200 sq. ft. deck: 700 2-3/8 in. protech coated trimhead deck screws, 1 camo marksman, 2 camo driver bits, 30 starter board screws
  • Protech coated 1500 hour salt spray
  • Covers approx. 200 sq. ft. deck
  • Two free driver bits included
  • A reverse rake tip removes deck material as it bores, allowing the screw to penetrate the board without splitting
  • A star drive offers more points of contact for better performance and reduces bit slippage and wear
  • An aggressive lower thread pattern provides superior holding power while the reverse upper thread pulls the board tight to the joist and provides a clean, finished entry
  • A unique trimhead design provides a less visible point of entry

Customer Questions & Answers

This looks like it sets a gap between the boards. When using pressure treated lumber that is always wet , you normally butt the boards together. Will this create a bigger gap when the wood dries?
Asked by: Curious
The CAMO Marksman Tool that comes with this DeckPac features a 3/16" gap. It can be used to install a variety of decking material, but when installing treated lumber, we recommend you use the CAMO Marksman Pro-X1 Tool (1/16" gap) or the CAMO Marksman Edge Tool (zero gap). When you install treated decking, particularly wet treated decking, your gap will widen over time as it dries. You can limit the size of your gap after drying by butting the boards tightly together and installing them with the CAMO Marksman Edge Tool (model #0345020) which will allow for zero gap at installation.

Customer Reviews

2-3/8 in. DeckPac 700 ProTech Trimhead Screws with Marksman Driver Bits and 30 Starter Board Screws is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Hidden Fastener On the Market I have been installing decks for several years now exclusively with Camo Marksman fasteners. I have installed on redwood, composite, both 1" and 1 1/2" thick, and both capped and uncapped. Nothing I have used compares. I have used the system with the 3/16" gap, and the Edge tool with no gap. I have used the 1 7/8" screws and also the longer screws. The finished decks are beautiful. The only time I don't use the Camo Marksman system is with grooved decking. Usually I talk the customers out of choosing that kind. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great concept, poor quality I have two opinions on this product. First, the concept is great...the device quickly secures itself to the board with a squeeze of the handle. It is 1 1/2 inches wide, so it's easy to visually center it on the joist below. And the screws are aligned perfectly to secure the deck board yet virtually disappear. And the screws are a big part of the overall success. They are strong so not one head stripped. They are self drilling and go in very easy, I used only one battery in my Dewalt cordless drill for the whole project. My only concern is the build quality of the hand device that aligns the screws and steers the entire process. I built a small deck (about 125 s.f.) and the device is already loose at the seams and the hole that aligns the screws has some play in it. I got the entry level handle as part of the handle/700 screws package. If I had to do over again I would invest in the 'pro' tool whick uses more metal in it's construction and buy screws seprerately. The upgrade device also allows you to screw both sides of the deck board in one grip which could make thngs go very fast with two people (I was working alone, my wife wasn't interested). As a disclaimer...I have not used the upgrade tool so it may not be built better or last longer, but I am disappointed with the plastic one I own. But I recommend trying it as I am very satisfied with the appearance and strength of my finished deck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice product to rebuild a deck with I got this product and worked exactly as advertised. I think it not only made the deck look nicer once complete, but also helped in installation time. The tool holds the screw in place nicely so there's no question on its intended placement. The tool also helped for the occasional board that was warped, allowing me to bend the board in place while insuring the proper spacing between boards. The only slight cause for concern would be the durability of the included tool. While I'm not a professional and have no plans to perform another deck build anytime soon, I can see how the plastic tool might break after two or three 150+ sq ft deck builds. There were a couple of times where I heard the plastic creaking and I thought I had broken it, but the thing kept working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A well engineered package Just finished a 90sq ft deck. This kit provided the fasteners, 2 driver bits so that two drills could be used, and the Marksman tool, which is essential for establishing the placement, angle and depth for the fastener. I don't think the dual-fastener version of the tool would have helped us -- just the way we work together on our projects -- one to hold the tool, the other to drive the fastener -- get to the end of the row, then hand over to the other person and go down that side of the board. Worked great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked as advertised, great product Even my 11 & 12 year old boys were able to install the decking screws by themselves (after a tiny amount of training) with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Easy to use. But also easy to loose those screws. Don't let your toddler help you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product This is a great system. The hidden screws go in well and the no predrilling is very nice. My deck looks great with no screw heads showing. I would recommend buying the Marksman Pro though, the single screw guide on the Marksman slows things down a good bit. I had my reservations because I didn't get to put my hands on it before I bought it, but I'm glad that didn't prevent me from ordering it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great but pricey system The Camo hidden deck fastener system does an excellent and efficient job but the screws themselves are relatively expensive,
