Answer:
The instructions state that it can be mounted in a wall horizontally or it can be mounted in a ceiling, but wall mounting is recommended. According to the manufacturers instructions, only the single units can be turned 90 degrees, or sideways orientation in a wall.

I need to correct everybody on the can it be mounted in a 2x4 wall. The actual answer is no. Not a true 2x4 or pre-1970's built house 2x4's. If you have true 2x4's you will have to get your sawzall or chisel in order to make the wall can fit. That little bit of info would have came in real handy prior to my installation. Today's "2x4's" are actually about 1 5/8x3 5/8 which gives you the amount of room needed between 16" centered wall studs. The company and their highly trained techs, along with some DIY's or KIA's (know it alls) should be sure to give accurate answers. For those of you that have an older home made with real wood be prepared to trim your 2x4's. The heater itself is phenomenal and exceeded my expectations in every way. Strongly recommend! Another suggestion is to wire it to a cord if you happen to have a 220v a/c unit. I saved about $80 in wire by doing so. Unplug A/C in winter and plug your heater in spending only $15 for an appliance cord. Sorry for ramblin on but quite helpful i hope. Read Less

The heater comes with an internal thermostat controlled by the knob in the picture. No high/low setting unless you wire in a switch to power each heater separately (this heater has two separate heaters jumpered together inside) It mounts in a 2X4 wall without any extra room behind.

The temperature range is 40 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, and the thermostat controls the amount of time the unit is operating to reach your desired temperature. If the knob is turned counterclockwise to its lowest position, the thermostat will keep your room within about 5 degrees of the 40 degree low setting. And the Com-Pak Twin Plus style heaters are made to install into a 2x4 stud wall with 16" on center studs. We've included a link to an installation video that walks you through the project. Answer:
Yes, it will. When I bought this unit, I was expecting that my source was 240V. The instructions state 208/240V. During installation, I tested voltage at the connection and it registered 230V. The unit works great. I expect that at about 5% less voltage, the wattage output is about 5% less, but it's not noticeable.

Hi Jordan,
No, the Com-Pak Twin does not need to be vented outside.
We recommend installation 12 inches from all surfaces. A 3 foot minimum clearance is required for furniture or other objects placed directly in front of the heater.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Consistent Heat Installation was straightforward, looks good and functions well. Installed two of these double units in my three car garage, and they keep it quite comfortable. The units cycle as needed, as the thermostat has a good range. I had these cranked up on high and had to turn them down to only about 1/4 on, as they were roasting us out while we were putting up the drywall ceiling. I keep them on lowest setting now, and in 20 degree weather outside my garage is at about 50, and still can crank it up if needed. They are not noisy, just normal fan sound and we can still carry on a conversation while they are running. Wired to 40 amp breaker, 220v, and the pair draws about 33 amps combined. January 12, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cadet com-pak twin 4,000-watt 240 volt fan-forced in-wall electric heater almond We couldn't be happier! The fan installed easy, is quite and heats our 800 plus guest house. We differently recommend this product. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Don't let the size fool you! Quiet and very comfortable For its small size it heats a large area (14ft x 21ft) in the coldest of winters. I have used it now for four years. To cut the heating cost I now heat with it the downstairs (living area) only and enough of the hot air rises to the bed rooms upstairs . During the night I turn it to a low thermostat setting. In the morning it warms the area up very fast. I do not regret having selected the 4,000 Watt instead of the 3,000 Watt rating because it provides for a fast heating and then cycles on and off. The installation was simple. #10 AWG wire and a 20 A double pole breaker was all that was needed to complete the project. January 2, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product I bought this heater to use in my sunroom that is 18x 22 and has two walls of floor to ceiling windows. I was hoping the heater would be enough to just take the chill out if the air since we use the room to enter and exit the house. To my surprise, this unit gives off more than enough heat that I can enjoy this room all winter long. Was easy to install and didn't raise my electric bill much. Very happy with this product. Highly recommended. December 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great wall mounted heater Quiet for all the heat produced. Easy assembly in wall or external. December 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by economical high capacity resistance heat This product is actually two smaller 120 volt units bolted together and wired in series for 240 volt operation. The thermostat controls both heaters. Lots of heat for a small price. November 11, 2014
