With a simple push of the button (a simple pull unlocks the device), Stay Plugged pins slip through the plug’s blade holes, automatically locking any standard 125-Volt plug and connector and guaranteeing consistent, steady current in a variety of situations. Stay Plugged technology is water-, weather, chemical, dust and dirt-resistant, making it ideal for indoor and outdoor use.

Lately we've found that the ground wire on 'imported' is smaller than true 12ga. When checking those made in the USA, all three are 12ga.

Thisextension cord is not made in the USA. However it is made to standards that Cerro has specified. All the wires are 12 gauge in this cord. If you have any troubles, please call our customer service department at 812-793-2929.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very satisfied with the 12/3 cord I needed a 12 gauge cord for power access to an electric 5-ton log splitter. I think most electric tools and appliances call for a 12/3 cord. It has a locking mechanism that locks the plug into the receptacle end. This should work great as to not having the cord accidently unplug, and having to take time to plug it in again. I have second thoughts on whether I should have purchased the 50' cord instead of the 25' cord, but probably for most of my use, the 25' is sufficient. I did have to order the cord online and pickup it at the local store to avoid shipping charges. Wished they would carry these in the stores. December 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Much to Like But... First the plusses. The price is so low I figured they scrimped on materials, noting the description rates it down to only 40 degrees F. Turns out that is a typo - it is actually rated down to MINUS 40 degrees F - nothing cheap here. The lighted end is also a plus, as well as the locking plug holder that prevents a plug from inadvertently coming out. I thought I had made an awesome find until I pluged a power strip in, and its indicator light showed that it was dead. Wiggling the plug caused the power to go off and on (this is with the plug securely locked in place.) I tested the power strip plug with another extension cord, as well as directly into the wall outlet. There is nothing wrong with my power strip. Having the power on intermittently is totally unaceptable for my intended usage, and I had to return the extension cord (Home Depot makes this very easy at their stores - no mailing is required.) I ended up buying an extension cord made in the USA on Ebay. Maybe the plug-locking feature precludes a snug electrical connection for the plug, or maybe I received a poor quality extension cord, but I cannot recommend this product. June 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good basic extension I needed a 12ga cord for power access on a home built router fence and this is perfect. I like the way it locks the plug into the receptacle end. This just needs to be available in a 50' version as well. October 14, 2014
