Can I just screw the rod into the wall or does it have to go with the shelving unit?

Answer:
Smadd,
What are the dimensions of the upright you attached this rod to? Depth?
I am trying to copy your closet!
I want to attach the rod on one side to a IKEA PAX wardrobe that is 13 3/4 inches deep and then a homemade (13-16 inches deep) upright on the other side. Do you think that would work?
Thanks!

Answer:
We bought this (I just posted a long review, including a photo) and did not use it with the Closet Maid products. However, it needs to screw into two uprights. We chose to screw it into an oak floor to ceiling shelf on one side and an upright piece of oak on the other side. If you screw it into the wall, it will be turned the wrong way.

I'd like to attach one side of this to the ClosetMaid Impressions shoe rack, as opposed to a tower. Is that possible?

One side would be attached to the Deluxe tower and on the other side I want to stack 4 shoe racks on top of each other, and attach the rod there. Or is that not stable enough?

Answer:
I haven't done this, but if the shoe racks are also affixed to the wall, you should be able to do this.

Answer:
While the shoe stackers were not originally designed to do this, dimensionally it would work. Each shoe unit would need to be affixed to the wall for proper stability to support the hang rod.

Answer:
Yes. The corner rounder closet rod attaches between two closet towers to provide long hang for dresses, or use two for double hang of shirts and pants. The corner shelf kit may be installed by itself or above the closet rod for additional shelf storage.

Handy mom --
The best idea is to build your two towers, get them relatively in place, and install the hanging rod to the towers prior to attaching the towers to the wall. This method insures that the rod is in exactly the right place. It works even better if you're using two rods, as more stability leads to a better fit. We can't give you an "exact" measurement due to variations in straightness of walls

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terrfiic closet solution Very happy with this product. Utilized this item in conjunction with it's counterparts (6 drawers, 3 towers with 2 straight bars, 1 shelf, 2 curved bars) to create a custom storage system for our walk-in closet. All items assembled rather quickly and easily. I was able to put together and install the entire arrangement (see picture) in less than a day. I'm very happy with quality of the product. Wood appears to be durable and the finish was a good quality. I also added the laminate flooring which was from Home Depot. Overall I am very excited for how the project came out and have had many positive comments from those who have seen it. June 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Neat product Fitted nice in the space and looked good .was easy to install and appears strong . September 30, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Would not buy Very small. It will only allow for a few pieces to be hung. Still in the original package and the finished is chipped of each end. Poor quality. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Corner closet rod I was a bit hesitant to buy this, as I was not using the rest of the closetmaid products. However, I really wanted corner closet rods to complete my "small" walk-in closet remodel, and this was literally the only one I could find. (my closet is 6' wide by 8' deep; all of the closet design tools call it small, but I've never thought of it as small). We ended up trying this out and loving it. We have double corner rods on his side and mine & both use this space for jackets and dress shirts. They don't make clear in the product description how much space this will require, but I found a shelf that installs under this rod that is 25" x 25". We thought we could save a bit of space if necessary and push the rod closer to the corner of the wall and use up only about 20" x 20" along each wall. Instead, we ended up doing almost exactly 25" x 25", mainly because it gave more space between the two shelving units that these rods attached to, thus better access to the clothing. If desired, you could also install these even further from the corner of the wall and take up more like 28" x 28"...in other words, there's a lot of flexibility in where you install them. Another concern was that we were using really nice, thick nickel closet rods for all of the straight spaces. Although these don't match, it doesn't detract a bit from my love of my closet & no one has commented on it. (I've shown my closet to every friend who will walk in there with me!!!) January 8, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Idea, inadequate support I purchased this for a master bedroom closet. I thought it a good idea to have corner closet rods to maximize the space. There are two changes that I would recommend before considering this a 5 stars review. 1. create pre-drilled holes to guarantee alignment 2. Add T-nuts and bolts for strength, all that comes with it are four 1/2" wood screws. These are certainly not adequate for supporting any closet rod, even one as short as this. If someone were to purchase the t-nuts separately, it will more than be enough to support the weight that will be added. May 19, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not really for the Impressions line of closet kits I bought two of these rounder closet rods to go along with the 3 tower closet kits and the 29 inch corner shelving that I bought to build corner units along with the towers. It says impressions but it is not the correct length to go along with the 29 inch corner shelf kits. In all the photos you can see that this is used above the corner unit. It doesn't go along with the impressions closet system. January 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Well Once Corner Shelf Is In Place Please see my review on the corner shelf for more detail. But once the corner shelf is in place, it's pretty easy to get these where you want them. I made a template out of some heavy paper to help me easily get the spacing right. July 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product. Just make sure you've got a couple people on this job. Tough to do on your own and some of the assemblies (e.g. The top shelf above the corner hanging rods). Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and can fit pretty much everything that used to be in multiple pieces of furniture in my room into my medium sized walk-in closet. March 5, 2013
