They have to be hard wired and I would recommend wiring a light switch into the circuit, as the heater does not have an on/off switch.

Must be hard wired so you may need an electrician if you're not too savvy with electrical codes and such.

Thank you for your question about this 1500-Watt Wall Heater. This unit is hard wired. If you are on the HomeDepot.com site and you scroll down on the page, there is a box called ‘Info & Guides’. If you click on the Instructions/Assembly icon, go to page 2 to review the wiring data. Thanks, again.

Yes, as long as the switch or timer is rated to handle the watt's, or amps at the voltage you are using (watts = amps multiplied times volts). I put mine on a timer so my wife wouldn't forget to turn it off.

I would say so. We are using a Baseboard Thermostat to control our heater. As long as the switch can handle the wattage, you can use it

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Yes, you can get a wall switch to turn the heater off. Please review model 69W (white), or 69V (ivory). You have to have a 120 V 20 AMP switch since this is a heater. I hope this is helpful. If you have further questions and would like to speak with a Technical Support person, please dial 888-336-6151. Thanks, again.

Answer:
Yes, but it is similar to any 1500W heater that you would plug into the wall. So, it is not blowing out with the force of your HVAC vents, but it does nicely in a bathroom.

Yes, a little loud but it moves the air well. I installed mine 6" up from the floor, the louvers are tilted downwards so it makes a great foot and shoe warmer...and my cat is assured I installed it solely for her...it turns on and she appears to soak up the heat!

Has a fan. Fins are made of plastic which causes it to be a bit more noisy than another unit but if you can handle it, the Broan will save you $50

Answer:
Unless you are 100% positive no obstructions will interfere with the air flow or fall against it, leaving a space heater like this on unattended is not a great idea. However, if installed properly (electrically especially-240V recommended) and kept clear of potential hazards, this unit appears to be robust enough for continuos use.

You can leave it on all the time... the 'thermostat' is only controlled by a knob but it does cycle on and off to maintain heating. The bill for leaving it on 24/7 could be formidable though.

There is no thermostat to set. There is a dial starting with low all the way to high. While I'm in the room I set it to high. When I'll be out of the room I turn the dial either to low or half way between the two 24/7. If the house is warm or the outside temperature is nice I turn it off.

Comfort-Flo 12 in. 1500-Watt Wall Heater is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but a bit noisy I installed both the Broan Comfort-Flo (12 in. 1500-Watt Wall Heater, 750/1500W 120VAC,1125W 208VAC, 1500W 240 VAC) and the another heater and will compare. Broan is nice because it is multi-wattage/voltage while the other is single voltage/wattage. I'm using the 120v/750W mode and it heats the bedroom nicely. The Broan is at least 3x as noisy vs. the other. Broan is good for bath or bed (if you can sleep through it-we're getting use to it). For the price, the broan is good. I will put more Broan's into the bath. I liked the Broan because it's a horizontal heater and more modern looking and doesn't extend from the wall much. Very easy to install. We also use external thermostats for better control.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seen ok so far. Had this unit Installed in a ventless bathroom that gets cold during the Winter. Install took about an hour, because the wood in the wall was thicker than expected and harder to cut through. Overall the unit is a good value for the cost and also looks good cosmetically. Pros: Cost, installation, small footprint, solid looks, heats room well. Cons: No on/off (you can turn it all the way down which basically is almost like an on/off switch. Gets hotter to touch than I expected based on reviews. Surface Gets to hot to hold your hand against. I plan to post a warning sign for surface heat. Seems to blow harder toward left side than centered, or all around vent. Overall I would by again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great heater for the price Bought this heater at Home Depot and it was shipped to my home in a timely fashion. Other reviews said it couldn't be installed in a finished wall. WRONG. I did it and I am an average handy guy with some tools and creative mind. First u take off the metal mounting bracket at the top. Easy to come off with needle nose pliers. Measure 3 2x4 to length to frame. Cut 1 inch off the width of them. Angle the 3 inch construction screws and install in a box frame. Was easy. Is solid mount with no vibration. Super quite and easy to wire. My wife loves it in the morning when getting ready after a shower. I sleep right thru her getting ready due to no fan vibration / noise. Heats a 300 sq feet bathroom easily. Totally impressed. Great price, looks great, easy to use, and quality built product. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent wall-mounted bathroom heater The heater was easy to install and great for the price. The only two issues that I have with the heater are: 1) The knob is cheap plastic and will probably break after a little bit of use and 2) it does not have an on/off switch. It has a knob to adjust the temperature but no on/off switch. I suspect that the heater probably will not cycle on in the lowest setting unless it is near freezing. However, I would still feel more comfortable leaving the house knowing that the heater is off. I would recommend installing a light switch to control the heater when you install the heater. The heater does have to be wired.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from not what they used to be Not too difficult to install. Had to convert to 240 which was easy. Materials are sooo flimsy though. The heater it replaced (from the 60's) was all heavy metal and solid. What isn't plastic on this is very flimsy tin. Came right on after I flipped the breaker back on but won't give it a work out until winter hits. Going to use it to heat the bathroom. Having said all the negative, I'll probably get another for my bedroom since finding a size to fit in my older house is near impossible. I have high hopes the little things will prove me wrong and last and last and... :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good buy, for the price. Easy conversion to 240. Nice little unit for heating a 10x15 bedroom. Wall mount is quick and simple. Quiet operation
Date published: 2011-10-04
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made for new installations Bought this heater for a basement bathroom that was already finnished. I made it work, but this heater is made to be installed before the drywall is installed to be able to connect the opposite end of the heater to either the left or right hand stud. If you are installing in a finnished wall you can only attach it to one stud. The cross bar that slides into the top to connect to the other stud can't be used. Other than that the heater works just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great. Looks good. Bought a house with a non-working wall heater in the bathroom of an older section of the house. I was so happy to find this, the same make and model still available. It shipped very fast. It warms the room nicely. As you set it to temperature you want and then it kicks on and off automatically, I may unplug it in the summer even thought it is hard wired. If you remove the front, you can unplug from power source internally, which is nice. Overall, very happy with the unit.
