Customer Questions & Answers

Do these heaters have a 3 prong plug, or do they need hard wired or either option?

Asked by: georgey
They need to be hard wired

Can this heater be turned on and off from a wall switch or wired to a wall switch timer?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, and I would recommend doing so as it does not have it's own on/off switch.

Does this unit have a fan to help move the warm air?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, but it is similar to any 1500W heater that you would plug into the wall. So, it is not blowing out with the force of your HVAC vents, but it does nicely in a bathroom.

Can this unit be turned on, set with the thermostat and left on 24/7?

Asked by: Anonymous
Unless you are 100% positive no obstructions will interfere with the air flow or fall against it, leaving a space heater like this on unattended is not a great idea. However, if installed properly (electrically especially-240V recommended) and kept clear of potential hazards, this unit appears to be robust enough for continuos use.

Customer Reviews

Comfort-Flo 12 in. 1500-Watt Wall Heater is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 70.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but a bit noisy I installed both the Broan Comfort-Flo (12 in. 1500-Watt Wall Heater, 750/1500W 120VAC,1125W 208VAC, 1500W 240 VAC) and the another heater and will compare. Broan is nice because it is multi-wattage/voltage while the other is single voltage/wattage. I'm using the 120v/750W mode and it heats the bedroom nicely. The Broan is at least 3x as noisy vs. the other. Broan is good for bath or bed (if you can sleep through it-we're getting use to it). For the price, the broan is good. I will put more Broan's into the bath. I liked the Broan because it's a horizontal heater and more modern looking and doesn't extend from the wall much. Very easy to install. We also use external thermostats for better control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great heater for the price Bought this heater at Home Depot and it was shipped to my home in a timely fashion. Other reviews said it couldn't be installed in a finished wall. WRONG. I did it and I am an average handy guy with some tools and creative mind. First u take off the metal mounting bracket at the top. Easy to come off with needle nose pliers. Measure 3 2x4 to length to frame. Cut 1 inch off the width of them. Angle the 3 inch construction screws and install in a box frame. Was easy. Is solid mount with no vibration. Super quite and easy to wire. My wife loves it in the morning when getting ready after a shower. I sleep right thru her getting ready due to no fan vibration / noise. Heats a 300 sq feet bathroom easily. Totally impressed. Great price, looks great, easy to use, and quality built product. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent wall-mounted bathroom heater The heater was easy to install and great for the price. The only two issues that I have with the heater are: 1) The knob is cheap plastic and will probably break after a little bit of use and 2) it does not have an on/off switch. It has a knob to adjust the temperature but no on/off switch. I suspect that the heater probably will not cycle on in the lowest setting unless it is near freezing. However, I would still feel more comfortable leaving the house knowing that the heater is off. I would recommend installing a light switch to control the heater when you install the heater. The heater does have to be wired.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seen ok so far. Had this unit Installed in a ventless bathroom that gets cold during the Winter. Install took about an hour, because the wood in the wall was thicker than expected and harder to cut through. Overall the unit is a good value for the cost and also looks good cosmetically. Pros: Cost, installation, small footprint, solid looks, heats room well. Cons: No on/off (you can turn it all the way down which basically is almost like an on/off switch. Gets hotter to touch than I expected based on reviews. Surface Gets to hot to hold your hand against. I plan to post a warning sign for surface heat. Seems to blow harder toward left side than centered, or all around vent. Overall I would by again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from not what they used to be Not too difficult to install. Had to convert to 240 which was easy. Materials are sooo flimsy though. The heater it replaced (from the 60's) was all heavy metal and solid. What isn't plastic on this is very flimsy tin. Came right on after I flipped the breaker back on but won't give it a work out until winter hits. Going to use it to heat the bathroom. Having said all the negative, I'll probably get another for my bedroom since finding a size to fit in my older house is near impossible. I have high hopes the little things will prove me wrong and last and last and... :-)
