Customer Reviews

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good size Good size is about all I have to say good about this product. Watch out for splinters, damaged hardware (screws & shelving clips) and for damaged particleboards. You can't double check this before the delivery guy runs away so do it as soon as you can afterwards. July 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 6 out of 8 shelves This unit was easy to assemble, and is nice and sturdy. We only used 6 of the shelves however, due to some of the larger books we placed on it. All 8 might have gotten used if the books were paperbacks. September 7, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by looks nice from afar Nice shiny dark wood color. Its not as tall as it looks in the photo.....comes to about mid chest height and I'm 5'4". Looks sturdy enough for the books in our office BUT it has chips all over the edges-poor quality. its not easy but not super hard to assemble. Took less than an hour. But be careful because its not sturdy and will chip when you use an electric screwdriver. I would not put this in my living room but for an office break area it will be ok. December 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value, and Looks Good Too The bookcase is made of particle board, with thin oak veneers. The finish is pretty good overall, as is the assembly hardware. What I struggled with was the back panels for the case. They had a very high-gloss finish, and in order to fit into the shipping box, folded into four sections. Since there is a partition in the center of the bookcase, you'd only be able to fasten the outer and middle seams, leaving the center seams on each half of the bookcase unsecured. I thought that would have looked cheesy, and so I purchased a 4 x 8 sheet of medium oak paneling from Home Depot, cut it to 45" lenght, and then fastened with nails. It looks much better in my opinion, and was certainly worth the additional $30 or so. But overall, for a bookcase that can be assembled at home in short order, and shipped to one's home, it's a pretty good deal. February 26, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the price Not worth the price. I purchased two shelves and both had multiple chips on panels and the fascia on some of the shelves needed to be re-glued. The fascia was not attached to the shelf and you could see where it had been glued and nailed- in fact, the nails were still in the fascia. For this price, I shouldn't have to grab a bottle of elmers glue and do repairs on a brand new product. November 18, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not so good Very cheap material for close to $300. Instructions said their was labeling but nothing on actual pieces so I was left up to guessing. The material used as the backboard feels and looks like tapped cardboard, extremely cheesy. Probably wouldn't buy anymore products from them October 7, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value - Arrived Damaged The bookcase has a nice appearance, appears sturdy but it hasn't been loaded yet, and was fairly easy to assemble. However, one of the shelves arrived with the facing broken off. Customer service readily agreed to ship a new shelf - time will tell how quickly it arrives. January 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by this package was all it said it was and looks great in our living room. We shined it up after it was assembled, and actually could have used something a little larger.... maybe 5 ft x 5 ft... But, worked perfect for what we wanted... a decent, sturdy bookcase for our book collection. September 25, 2012
