my height is 79 5/8.will these doors fit?thank you
Asked by: dy
The doors I got delivered were for a 81 (81 1/2) inch opening height. The door is 79 inches tall and the bottom track is 1/2 inch high so that leaves you 1/8 inch to try to slide the door in etc. The doors seem to want 1 to 1 1/2 inch clearance so unless you can remove some wood at the top or bottom of your closet I would not try it. Especially with how much these cost! By the way, my opening is 78 1/2 inch tall but got a special order delivery of the 79 inch door.......can't use it without cutting my threshold and the new door down top and bottom!

This comes as a set of two doors to equal an 84" wide opening, so are they 42" wide each? If my closet is 83" wide, would these work?

Asked by: KH
Yes, the width of the doors are 42" each and will fit an 83" opening.

48 in. x 96 in. Tranquility Glass Panels Back Painted White Interior Sliding Door with Espresso Wood Frame is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 8.

Somehow between my wife and the store the special ordered white doors for a 78 1/2 inch opening came in a week or so ago with doors 79 inches high! Special orders are non refundable even with something that would not fit, how is that! So Home Depot stuck me with these $700 doors I had to make fit. Fortunately, these are actual solid wood doors and the construction is such I could unscrew the top and bottom pieces and rollers and deepen the glass holding slot to shorten the door a full 2 inches (1" top and 1" bottom). Would have worked by shortening them 3/4" top and bottom it appears now. It took a full day to do and was tricky but now that they are hung they really do look good in the bedroom (see photo). Can't really tell the top and bottom panels are a bit shorter than the middle ones. Make no mistake, you are paying for the nice looking glass in these doors. Track and guide seem to be powder coated aluminum or a nice thick paint which is good and finish on wood is nice too. They move easy and look real good. Just make sure if you special order you have Home Depot measure the door height before you take delivery.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expected more Ordered the custom version for about $1000. Frankly, I expected more. Pros- Installation was easy, though cutting the Aluminum channel whe proper measurement had been taken would have been difficult without the right blade on the power saw. The doors also look good (see below). Cons- Materials seem pretty, well, cheap. Frame appears to be MDF with a coating. Shortcuts on workmanship fit and finish. While taking off the protective tape I pulled one roller off, a couple of kids would destroy these things. Roller designed for 4 screws, only 2 used. I'll be removing all 4 rollers and embedding in Silicon (clear bathtube calk). A small push from inside the closet and the rollers come off. For an espresso wood frame, there's a lot of white showing... Glass had a scuff that a razor did not remove. I was able to polish out with optical glass polish, but not everyone has that. Top "slide" is a plastic piece that has been stapled on, even though there are no staple hole (prior to stapling (humm) but there are screw holes. Will be adding screws next time I have them down. Also very light weight, no sure how long they will last. I need another door for another closet. Will be looking elsewhere or making my own.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok It looks good, had to order 3 times before it came undamaged. The quality is questionable. 96x96!is long wide and heavy and the frame is already deformed a bit after 1 month of use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bars on both doors do not align horizontally If you care that the horizontal bars line up on both doors, do not buy this product. The manufacturer says there can be a difference of 3/8 of an inch, which is their tolerance during manufacturing. Way too much tolerance in my opinion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful except lacking handles These doors are the perfect accent for our guest bedroom! The dark and light color scheme is quite soothing. But the doors need handles. Very difficult to open without them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best closet doors ever I bought 3 of these doors for 3 different bedrooms. They were so easy to install, the hardest part was cutting the tracks for the doors. They look great and they move very easily in their tracks. The manufacturer really boxed the doors up very securely. I was worried about transporting them home from Home Depot, but they made the trek no problem. I am going to buy one more for our hallway, a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Thanks again Home Depot.
