Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by projectman this nailer is awesome!!!!
this is an amazing tool that any homeowner doing small projects around the house should own. Enough power to put a 2 inch brad nail through anything. After 200 nails the battery is still going on the first charge.

the gun works very well but you can not leave it out in the cold as it will not work untill it warms up to room temp

I do service calls rather than full construction and was desperately looking for a cordless brad nailer to save having to cart a compressor, air lines, and nail gun across parking lots and up flights of stairs... all for 10 to 12 nails. I couldn't decide between the Dewalt and Paslode for some time but eventually bought the Dewalt and so far have been pleased with my purchase. It will drive nails just as well as any air powered nail gun I've ever used but at almost twice the price of a compressor combo it's pretty well reserved for those with tool envy or with a specific need to lighten the load and/or reduce noise (as in my case).
I ended up choosing the Dewalt over Paslode for several reasons. The Dewalt uses the same battery as all my other tools and Dewalt is very common on a job site making it easy to borrow a battery "for a minute" if needed. The Paslode requires regular oiling, uses a specific Paslode battery, and requires Paslode fuel cells which do expire over time. None of these issues are a problem if you are using the nailer on a regular basis except that it increases your on-going expenses but if you leave it on the shelf for a couple months... will it be ready to go when you need it or do you have to go shopping for new fuel cells first?
The silver part of the Dewalt is actually metal which is good. I expect that area to be the most likely point of impact should the nailer get knocked off a ladder or job box but the nail magazine and the brackets that hold it on are plastic. I would be curious to know how much it would take to break it if the gun is dropped and lands just the right way. In fairness, it is very tough plastic which almost seems like aluminum and the Paslode nail magazine is also plastic. I haven't had any trouble with it yet but I suspect the safety may cause problems at some point. It seems very flimsy compared to what I'm used to on my Porter Cable air nailer but we'll see. Dewalt comes with a 3 year warranty so at least it's covered if needed.
If you are used to an air nailer you will find either cordless nailer expensive, HUGE, and weighs a ton but if you need mobility and convenience they are far better than all the equipment needed to run air. Trim a house or build cabinets with a compressor but replace a moulding or repair a cabinet and use the Dewalt (especially if your service call is on the 8th floor and the elevator is on service).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Michigan Powerful just like a gas power
I have a Passole 18 ga battery/gas and 15ga senco fusion. This Dewalt out perform the passole. It drive 2" nail into oak, 1" 1/4 nail into pine easily with no smelly fume. It does not have recoid like my senco fusion-it work as fast as my 18ga normal air gun. Only flaw: the nosepiece is flimsy weak, i bend it twice when i depress the nose at an angle. The gun is also heavy and bulky. Yes, for all of the flaws, i still like it better than my gas nail gun.

Wonderful product. I'm not in the construction industry and just wanted a tool to handle some work around the house. This is perfect and eliminates the need for the bulk of a compressor.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bucko This is a great tool for finishing work.
I had a lot of molding to install and this tool allowed me to finish it in no time at all. Compared to my old way of pilot drill and then hammer in finish nails and then sink them in this tool did all of that in one squeeze of the trigger. No predrilling and once I tested the depth setting I wanted the nails would stop just below the surface. All I did was nail and put in the nail filler. Plus, no hammer marks on the surface when you accidently miss the nail with the hammer. I should have bought one a long time ago.
