Does it delay the fan to allow the pump to soak the pads?

Most switches turn the pump on for a few minutes before turning on the fan. This allows to soak the pad before blowing air. Does this switch do that? If so, how long does the pump run before the fan turns on?

Answer:
it is a manual switch. You manually turn on the squirrel cage (fan). Typically you let the water soak the pad for about 3-5 minutes, then turn on fan.

What do you do with the wires?
Mine have electrical tape, and when the
cooler is on, sparks tend to fly around.

Answer:
Many reasons and for one... servicing when only you want pump action without the cage rolling while working on unit. #2 to wet pads initially before firing up fan, makes for a better cool and operation of unit. That is "Why"

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broke afer 1 time use The dial stopped working after trying to turn the dial to OFF. Cheap product. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great switch easy repair It took longer to get to Home Depot and back home than to install the new switch. Very easy repair. June 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Evap Cooler Switch Easy to install, more easy to use. Simple instructions for both installation and use. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by indispensable Low price. It does great work with controlling my evaporative cooler. It doesn't seem to mind if you spin the knob clockwise, or anti-clockwise. It works both ways. I wish it would record video so I could see if my wife is having wild parties at home while I'm at work. I suppose I could ask my neighbor to spy on her... July 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Evap wall switch Very simple wire up. Easy and simple to use. Easy read dial, setup in minutes. April 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hawk This switch is easy to wire and to use. Problem is...it only lasted 2 years before it failed. First, the high speed setting stopped working. Eventually, you couldn't get it to turn off. September 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Exact replacement This was an exact replacement of the unit that fried. Replacing it worried me greatly, I thought I might need an electrician, but there are just three wires and once the power was off (and I cleaned up the fried wiring) it went in very easily. Since the last unit truly fried, I am concerned about longevity. The old unit was in the home when we purchased so I have no idea if it was in for 2 years or 7 years (when the cooling system was installed by the previous owner). September 15, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Plan on Replacing this Often I have replaced this Dial switch about every other year. The first one (not a Dial brand switch) lasted for 20+ years. These Dial brand switches are cheaply made (but highly priced) and last only a couple of years. So lower your expectations. I wish home depot would carry a different brand. July 8, 2014
