Questions & Answers

hi, willl the 130 ft. ulf/ft4 extention cable work with the lorex security camara and dvr station.

i am asking because i notice 2 ends are fine ( the male and female end) but the other end only has one fitting that will work the other on is different. thanks
Asked by: bob
it will work as long as you have BNC connections on your cameras and DVR recorder. a common mistake with these most people run the extension cable last, you have to run the extension cable first,if you are connecting to another cable. if you're running your extension cable to your camera then you will have to have a male to male adapter.

Can the Defender camera extension cable 130 ft MODEL # 21009 be used outdoors or only indoors ?

We saw it in 65 ft MODEL # 21007 for outdoors, BUT We need to know if the 130 ft MODEL # 21009 can be used outdoors or is it only for indoors like the 65ft.
Asked by: david
yes it can be run indoors or outdoors I recommend the ft4 fire rated cable if you are running outdoors. make sure to weatherproof all your connections on cables and cameras. this can be done simply with vinyl electric tape

We have a structure 500' from the computer. What is the farthest we can run the camera cable?

Asked by: FKB
Great question FKB. The cables can be run up to 195' including the original 65' cable. Our HD cables can be run up to a total of 300' before you would experience loss of quality or video.

will this cable work on a 21004 defender camera, the ends look the same but want to make sure..
Asked by: chris
Great question Chris, while this cable is compatible with the 21004 camera, it is an extension. It cannot be used straight between the DVR and camera without a BNC coupler. HDCBL120 will work more effectively as it has the matching connections for a camera to DVR extension.

The cables arrived on time but the camera ends of the cable did not fit the Defender that I purchase earlier from Home Depot. All I wanted were longer cables to extend the camera reach. I purchase two roles of extension and the connection were wrong. I had to go to my local store buy two cables cut off the ends and attached it to extension cables. Now I have two 50ft cables with no ends. What a waste

I had to connect two of these cords together and with the original 60ft cord it gave me the length I needed. Every now and then I do get a flicker on that camera but with over 300ft of cord it works fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement NOT I lacked 10 feet with original cable and ordered this cable thinking it would replace the original 65 foot cable, I was wrong. This is NOT a replacement cable, this an "EXTENSION" cable to be connect to the original cable.
