I am looking for a bronze faucet that doesn't look almost black, is this delta venetian bronze a lighter brown color?

leland model pull down delta kitchen faucet in venetian bronze
Asked by: Anonymous
Just installed this. It is definitely not black, nor does it look that way in my kitchen, however I have a natural color backsplash and light granite countertops with dark specs. Also a stainless steel sink. The bronze looks just perfect with these combinations. I would say this is a darker brown, not a lighter brown color. Finish has some lighter highlights in it.

does the handle go backward

I cant have the handle hit my backsplash, is this a good faucet?
Asked by: royalty85
Goes back about 2 5/8 inches. Note that although the instructions don't say so, the handle can be mounted on the left side.

Does the artic finish go with a satin stainless steel finish sink

Asked by: D16
Finish matches my brushed stainless sink. I believe there is another finish option that matches the shiny stainless

Leland Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet in Venetian Bronze Featuring MagnaTite Docking is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 468.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Let's hope they fix the hose clip design issue, and offer a free replacement for the clip We replaced a leaky old (2007) Moen single handle pull out with this Delta “Leland” 9178-AR-DST in the first week of September 2016. This was a DIY install, so I was quite grateful for much of the thoughtful sharing of experience and lessons learned by many other reviewers on the internet, particularly Mr Mojo. I wasn't sure whether to give this 3 or 4 stars because we do like it, but there are significant shortcomings. It seems that mid-range plumbing fixtures like this tend to have serious design and quality issues affecting reliability and durability. We would have been willing to buy a significantly more expensive fixture, but I saw too many bad experiences with much more expensive faucets, so the higher price point would only have been more infuriating had there been issues. It really is a nice looking fixture, and will certainly complement a kitchen with stainless appliances, etc. Be aware that though the hub and spout arm seem to be metal, the rest seems to be plastic. Arctic Stainless is a color/finish, not a descriptor for stainless steel. We installed the faucet with the handle on the left, and had no problems. If you are attentive to the installation instructions and the space limitations in your kitchen, you should be able to install this unit with the handle on the left, right, front, or back with no problem. We like the fact that the sprayer magnetically attaches to the arm so you can pull it off or turn slightly and remove it even more easily by exposing opposite poles of the magnets. The sprayer toggles with a switch on the spout from stream to spray, as we expected, and the sprayer turns freely, so you can keep the toggle switch hidden on the back, in full view in the front, etc. Some have mentioned that the retractable hose for the spout can bind after some time. A few suggested silicone grease, which I would be concerned may collect dirt and gunk up on the hose and within the faucet arm (where you can’t easily clean) after some time. So, I used “B’Laster Silicone Spray Lubricant”, similar to this one http://www.homedepot.com/p/Blaster-11-oz-Industrial-Strength-Silicone-Lubricant-Case-of-12-16-SL/205048085 , instead. The sprayer hose slides like butter on a griddle! To lubricate, I laid the fixture assembly in our laundry tub to catch overspray, pulled the hose ALMOST all the way through the fixture assembly, sprayed it on the exposed hose and wiped it around with my hand, let it dry/soak in for a while, and gently wiped with a paper towel to remove any excess. Then I pulled the hose ALMOST all the way back through the other side, and repeated the procedure. I've also used this silicone spray with shower rods in the baths. I've also installed plastic shower rod covers over our wood hanger rods in our closets, coating with the silicone spray, air drying for some time, and wiping them prior to install. CLEAN, extremely smooth, almost disarmingly easy movement on these rods years after application. One thing that concerns me about the sprayer hose is that there is no brake to keep the hose from being pulled out so far that it would stress the rigid plastic junction where the vulnerable rigid plastic clip is installed. The weight that comes with this unit slides freely along the hose, and is not designed to be clamped on. We have some extra weights around here from other fixtures such as the Moen I just removed, and on those fixtures they were affixed to an appropriate point along the hose in order to prevent excessive hose withdrawal. I may try putting one of them on our new Delta 9178 hose. Or, since my kids are pretty much grown, maybe we’ll just hope no one gets too enthusiastic with the sprayer. The main thing that concerns me about the sprayer hose is the precarious way that the hose assembly attaches to the faucet assembly, held in place by a rigid plastic clip. This is a serious, unnecessary risk resulting from stunningly bad design. Before buying this faucet, I called Delta to see if they have redesigned this junction – unbelievably, they have not. However, the customer service lady said that if the clip breaks or comes off, they will provide another clip free under the warranty, but that won’t do much for the water damage. I almost didn’t buy the 9178 because of this design danger, but other products I looked at all had their own reliability and durability issues. Reviewer Mr. Mojo thoughtfully articulated a solution, complete with photo, so I thought I would give the 9178 a chance. I saw first hand how easy it would be to dislodge that clip – accidentally bumping it knocked it off rather easily. In fact, in attempting to replicate Mr. Mojo’s solution, the zip ties, when installed per his photo, actually dislodged the clip from the hose junction as I tightened the zip ties at the specified locations– the clip was left hanging in place but the junction was no longer secured. To solve that problem, I relocated the zip ties per the photos attached to this review, and they are situated so that the clip can not come off so long as the ties are in place and the clip remains unbroken. Just don’t overtighten the ties, or the rigid clip may eventually break from that pressure.

I visited my local Home Depot in order to review what models were in stock from the various manufacturers. I chose the Leland based on design and features. The fit, finish, and engineering of the faucet is exceptional. The other similar faucet sets from Delta had a soap dispenser unit which I did not need. This particular model was only available on-line. It arrived in a timely fashion and installation was easy. I appreciate the engineering and integration of the water supply lines into the faucet control unit. A quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great faucet! This is a review for the Leland Single handle Pull down sprayer in artic stainless. Ordered online on sale for $147 which came in quickly but with a few scratches. Called HD customer support, they were very apologetic and helpful, they sent in a replacement immediately. Installation is fairly simple, took me 2 hours due to removing an older faucet. . What attracted me to this faucet was the brand, the price and also the design. I noticed compared to the Moen brand as well as other brands that it didn't look overly minimalist or overly modern, but rather graceful and warm with it's gentle land azy curves.

Initially installed with handle on the left, but found that with an absolute black honed countertop there were always water spots below the handle on the countertop from turning it off with wet hands. Moved handle to the front. Think it looks better and no more watermarks on the countertop.

I purchased this faucet over a month ago after doing a lot of research online. It was a "special buy" from Home Depot but was unavailable in the store, so had to be special ordered. I had new counter tops installed yesterday and had a plumber here today to reconnect my plumbing and install the new faucet. Unfortunately, there was a part missing. I called Delta, whose customer service is supposedly top notch according to all the reviews I read when trying to decide on a brand of faucet to purchase. I was very disappointed in the results. The CSR with whom I spoke was very kind, however, her first offer was to ship the missing part within 10 - 14 days because it was not available for expedited shipping. She then got it down to 7 - 10 business days, which still was not an acceptable time for me to go without water in my kitchen. When I asked for compensation (a refund of the purchase price of the faucet) she came back from speaking with someone else and said they could get the part shipped in 1 - 3 business days, but since today is Thursday, it would be Monday at the earliest, and possibly longer. Add to that at least a couple of days to get a plumber out to install it, and I will be going almost a week without the use of my kitchen sink and dishwasher. I was told that in order to get a refund I would have to fill out a reimbursement form and mail it in, but I there would be no guarantee. So basically the result I got from being on the phone with Delta's wonderful customer service department for 25 minutes was "we're sorry."

Finally, Delta has created and produced a kitchen faucet of superior quality and top-notch functional design. We've had this faucet for approximately 6 months now and I like it SO much, I'm tempted to buy another one now to save it for the future! The magnet holds the faucet snug to the neck every time we use it and the water flow is strong. The braided hose is just another measure Delta has taken to ensure this particular faucet is of high quality as well. It just doesn't get any better than this. Delta, you get an A+ and this faucet gets my 2 thumbs up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No bad surprises If you're willing to spend this kind of money on a faucet, you expect it to be exactly what you're looking for, and this fits the bill (at least for me). 1. Looks as pictured on the website 2. Operates smoothly in every facet; handle turns easily and provides precise control over water temperature and flow rate; pull out sprayer is not cumbersome; easy to pull out and maneuver when you need it, locks in snugly when you put it back My previous faucet also had a spray setting, but its power is seriously lacking compared to this one. I frequently need to use a non-maximum flow rate when washing dishes or the water will splash onto me. Good purchase.
