Customer Questions & Answers

I have a 4 hole stainless sink. Will this faucet (the 978-SSSD-DST) work with it? If so, how?

Asked by: Anonymous
If you select this faucet with the separate valve and soap dispenser, that will take take care of 3 holes. You could purchase another soap dispenser for the 4th hole (1 for soap, 1 for lotion) or just purchase a plug that is sold in a variety of finishes.

Is the soap dispenser made of metal or is it molded out of plastic and fabricated to look like metal?

Asked by: Sundance
The soap dispenser is plastic.

Is soap dispenser and on/off a fixed distance from faucet center?

Asked by: teetime
They are totally independent. There are no connections to the soap dispenser so it ca be ANYWHERE. The only limit on the valve is the length of the supplied water line to the faucet. The valve can be on either side of the faucet.

I need a deckplate to mount this on a thin stainless steel sink to give it stability!

I am trying to replace a stainless steel pullout spray faucet on a 2-hole escutcheon (the other hole is for a soap dispenser and is to the left of the hole for the faucet with the attached handle. The escutcheon (deck plate) keeps the faucel and soap dispenser stable on my thin stainless steel double sink. I wanted to buy the Delta 19978-SD-DST Leland Pullout Spray Kitchen Faucet + soap dispenser or possibly model # 978-SD-DST: This model with detached handle + soap dispenser but neither comes with an escutcheon. These would be fine for a granite countertop but I am afraid that the faucet would be too heavy if mounted directly onto my very thin stainless steel sink. Is there a 2 or 3-hole escutcheon (deckplate) sold separately that would work with these faucets and stabilize their being mounted on a thin stainless steel sink (deck)????

We purchased the Leland model # 978-SSSD-DST which requires three holes. It does come with the 3 hole plate that mounts underneath to support the weight of the faucet. Because you only have two holes, you would want to purchase the Leland model that comes without the soap dispenser. You would then mount the control handle on the left side of the sink where you currently have your soap dispenser. The model without the soap dispenser would obviously come with a 2 hole plate.

Customer Reviews

Leland Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with Soap Dispenser and MagnaTite Docking in Stainless is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 74.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has great features. Everything, what is written in description, is true. I just do not want to repeat the description. Very nice faucet. Installation was easy to do by myself. The only design flaw is in the decorative button with red and blue dots. This button covers the set screw on the faucet handle. The button is supposed to stay firm in the set screw socket. But it stays in there very loose and falls out on its own. I have already lost this button. Thanks to the Delta's Customer Service for replacement button. I tried to install it, but it does not want to stay in place. I am thinking of installing it with some kind of adhesive (may be caulk). Otherwise I will lose it again.

We have only had this faucet a couple of weeks, but so far we really like it. Not crazy about the design of the soap dispenser but it is performing well so it is acceptable. Love the spray head, much better than having sprayer on the side. Also like the separate handle over the models that have the handle on the side of the faucet. Hope it lives up to Delta reliability.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not What I Expected For the price of this product, I had high expectations, but I've had this for about a year and already it leaks. You have to find the "sweet spot" to actually shut off the steady stream of water that drips. Clearly there is a design flaw if the ball and/or seals fail this quickly. The other difficulty is trying to find information on how to repair this. Very frustrating.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked great till The faucet has performed very well till the hot water tank was stirred up and debris Went into the sprayhead. What a complete nightmare the instructions give flushing instructions but they don't work. I did remove the aireator with the tool and cleaned it. The little rubber rubber spray nozzles are plugged with stuff that I cannot get out

Installation was easy and, while it's only been in for a week, I'm loving it so far. Especially love the pull down feature and the weight is enough that it pulls it back in if you don't get it all the way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really nice faucet Have a Kohler 4 hole double sink and this faucet is sharp looking in it. Not to tall and functions as expected. I paid an excellent price and am very happy with delta.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Quality I purchased this to replace a kitchen faucet with leaking problems. I am very pleased with the appearance and quality. My only disappointment and it is strictly my personal opinion is that the soap dispenser seems to be inferior to the quality of the faucet. It's very low and access for large hands can be difficult. Instead of using the included dispenser, I purchased the Delta Allora soap dispenser. It is taller and access under the spout is easier. It blends very well with the Delta Leland line in stainless steel although if you are looking for chrome, it is also available. Check out my upload showing the two different soap dispensers. I would highly recommend this faucet.
