Product Overview

Specially designed for cutting composite material, the 12 in. x 84-Tooth Diablo TrexBlade features Modified Triple Chip Grind tooth geometry for exceptional durability in cutting highly abrasive materials. Constructed with TiCo Hi-Density special-blend carbide, this durable blade is outfitted with 84 teeth to make smooth, finely finished cuts in deck boards, giving outdoor retreats a polished look. The Perma-SHIELD non-stick coating reduces drag while stabilizer vents absorb noise and vibration to keep the blade straight. An ultra-slim kerf produces a thin cut for less material removal and fast, effortless operation.

  • Freud TiCo high-density carbide is specially formulated to maximize cutting life in composite materials and plastics
  • Modified Triple Chip Grind (MTCG) fabrication keeps composite material cool while cutting, producing melt-free cuts
  • Laser-cut stabilizer vents absorb noise and vibration, keeping the blade straight and true for superior quality cuts
  • Perma-SHIELD non-stick coating reduces drag and shields the blade against heat, gumming and corrosion
  • Super-thin kerf provides fast, clean cuts with minimal material removal, ideal for underpowered saws on a job site

how do i cut lexan

can i use a 71/4 60 tooth blade
Asked by: fred
Lexan is a brand name for polycarbonate. I assume it's more than 1/16" thick, since thinner materials can be cut with a razor knife. 60 teeth on a small blade should work fine; you want to go slow and prevent the sheet from fluttering. If it's a convoluted sheet, it takes extra precaution. You should add tape over the cut line to reduce noise/chatter. I've cut many a panel on my tablesaw with a 10" 100-tooth blade. You might want to get more comfortable by viewing some on-line videos.

How will it do on hardie board

Asked by: bill
Not well at all. Cement [Hardie] board will snap if scored with the proper tool; if you must cut with circ saw, can't beat a cheap diamond blade from HF.

12 in. x 84-Tooth Trex/Composite Material Cutting Saw Blade is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the price At first, I thought the blade was a bit pricey but given the money I spent on Trex material to build my deck, I opted to purchase this special blade. I am glad I did. The cuts were clean and smooth without melting any of the Trex. Conclusion: "Spend the money to get the right tool for the job." This blade is the right tool for cleanly cutting Trex material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used as sheet metal blade I purchased it to cut insulated metal wall panels. 24 gauge/26 gauge steel skins, 2-1/2" insulation, 42" wide. We are getting over 100 cross/cuts per blade. And the blades then were not missing carbide teeth; they were just finally getting dull. They preform as well or better than blades specifically designed to cut light metal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sharp Cutter With past experience using Diablo products I expected nothing less than a premium product. I was not disappointed. This is a sharp blade that dissipates heat and remains cool during cutting. This blade with its 44 teeth cuts thru trex like a hot knife thru butter. This blade keeps its edge due to the carbide tips on the teeth. It is easy to clean up and re use many times. If you are good you can file the carbide tips to sharpen the teeth to continue its life. Good blades from a good company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Cuts This saw blade works great with my 7-1/4 saw. The kerf is super thin and the saw blade cuts with very little to no tear-out on pine. PVC is no problem either, with no melting or burning at all. The cutting is a little slower going since the blade has such a high tooth count, but the cut quality is worth a little extra time. Just remember, if you use a cut-guide be sure to account for the thinner kerf of this blade. Otherwise your work piece might end up a small fraction of an inch too wide. Not the end of the world, but definitely something to take into account. Great blade, great performance!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Lasting Saw Blade We have used these blades before on projects that other "regular" circular saw blades couldn't stand up to like the engineered hardwood bamboo flooring we put in our house. That's when we first tried Diablo blades because the run of the mill blades, even name brands, couldn't cut through the material. Composite decking is similarly hard to cut through and Diablo has the solution with this blade. The Diablo blades cut better for us on our projects and last longer, much longer. This is a quality product that gets the job done. The difference is notable between these blades and others in terms of ease of cutting and durability of the blade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth cuts on wood and plastic! This blade is a great improvement over the 32 tooth stock blade that came with my miter saw. With this 84 tooth blade, I get super smooth cuts on any material. I've used it on pine, treated lumber, and PVC so far with awesome results. The PVC didn't burn or tear out at all, and I barely even had to de-burr it afterwards. The finish on the blade still looks new as well, even after making dozens of cuts. I plan on using this as my default blade from now on since it's so versatile. The only thing you may have to get used to is cutting a little slower. If you're framing and don't care about tear-out, you may want to stick with a blade with fewer teeth since you can't just slam the blade down with a high tooth count blade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for building Decks This Diablo Trex Blade cuts like advertised. I have used it twice in the last two decks we built and will always keep one handy for our next composite deck we build. The teeth on this blade have a special grind angle that truly prevents composite wood from getting that melted look when a cut is made unlike your other brand blades. This blade is specially made for composite wood cutting as explained on the back of the package. The extra teeth and blade tip design makes the smoothest and easiest cut. The last cut of the project looks just like the first cut, smooth.
