Answer:
Hi, Mark - For your intended use, we recommend using the Diablo 7 ¼” 70 Tooth Steel Demon blade (D0770F), which is designed for thin gauge metals. The D0770F is ideal for smooth clean cuts in thinner material.

I need to cut 1 inch thick HDPE cutting board material into several pieces. TCG with a negative hook angle is what I want, but 80 teeth seems like a lot for something this thick

Answer:
Hi, Mike - The Diablo D1080N will be ideal blade to use because of its TCG tooth design and -5 degree hook angle. We recommend raising the blade in the material so that approximately 1” of the blade is exposed. This will minimize the amount of teeth working in the material minimizing the potential of marking the material.

"Metal Cutting Saw Blade?"

This question is from 12 in. x 96-Tooth Laminate/Non-Ferrous Metal Cutting Saw Blade

The title description of this blade indicates that it is a metal cutting saw blade but the blade pictured says it is for laminate and the more detailed description mentions nothing about cutting metal. So.... any ideas? Will this indeed cut metal or should Home Depot be fixing this particular web page?

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 80 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does everything it claims! I bought this saw blade to cut a ten foot conference room table that has a laminate top and bottom and is 1+1/4" of epoxy and compressed sawdust in the center. A very difficult material to cut. The Diablo blade went through it with no problem at all. I stopped every two feet to check the temperature of the blade and it was just slightly warm. The final cut left both laminates clean and neat. The Diablo exceeded my expectations (and that doesn't happen very often). February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Quality Blade Been using different kinds of Diablo blades for well over a year. When the opportunity came up to try the non-ferrous/ blade there wasn't a question or not to try it. Tested it on different plastic pipes ranging from 1/2” to 2” with the same results and it performed as expected a very clean cut. The well designed and crafted blade has numerous laser cuts for heat expansion, thin kerf design, stabilizer vents, and heat expansion slots to make this one of the very best blades on the market. While, at the same time extending the life of the blade, which could be a mute point because it's guaranteed for life, with of course exceptions. July 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Smooth cut I recently replaced the thin plastic on the side light windows on my front door with 1/8 clear acrylic. The cuts were smooth and easy, making this job so quick and satisfying . August 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Unbelieavable Blade / Awesome! We needed a blade to cut thru 18 guage metal and this blade handled it perfectly. And with the need to also cut plastic roofing, all we had to do was to turn the blade around to cut the plastic. Best purchase. January 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for fryreglet I use this blade to cut fryreglet (aluminium) and leave a clean cut, it cut it like butter , no messy job April 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very impressed When I was searching for the right blade to cut down large pieces of scrap aluminum and alloys I looked to see what diablo offered. I've used diablo sawzall blades for some years and I've been amazed how much better they handle hard metals such as stainless. I came across this skill saw blade and I honestly didn't want to pay this much money for a single blade to cut soft metals but having past success with diablo I decided to give it a try. The results were nothing short of awesome. Some of the scrap was more than an inch thick but it was no problem at all for this blade. By the end of it all I had more than a pound of shavings from this blade slicing like a CNC machine. No binding, no clogging, and still cutting just as fast as if it was new. After working with this I'm looking to see all the blades I can replace with diablo April 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saw blade Works great for job i purchased for. Cuts wrete clean and neat July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cuts nonferrous metal smoothly I've cut aluminum and also thin walled steel, bifold door runners with this blade. I don't force the cut, I cut very slowly yet steadily and it works quite well. It is necessary to file the cut edges smooth. July 5, 2016
