DOES THIS DO THE SAME AS A WATER SOFTNER

Asked by: SUSAN
No, it is a filter to reduce sediment in your water. It does not soften the water.

What is the maximum water pressure this filter can withstand?
Asked by: Bird
If I am not mistaken, I think that the documentation said it was 120 ppi. With mine I discovered that at night my city was causing the pressure in the waterlines to be at over 100 ppi. I have since installed water pressure limiter.

How long between changing the filters. I noticed that someone was dissappointed in the filter. Can any filter fit in this?
Asked by: emily
Buy the more expensive carbon filter. It is designed for 1200 gallons. I just simply change mine every 3-6 months or when I notice that the water is changing in taste. A word to the wise, buy a 20" channel lock wrench to change the filter becuse the device that come with it does not last very long. Also make sure you turn off the water before the filter before you try to change it.

Can thin be used for a home with well water?

Asked by: Shani
No I would not suggest it because this filter needs a constant 60 pounds per sq. inch to work properly and well typically vary from 40-60.
