Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AWESOME HEATER!!!! I am so glad I decided to buy this heater! I had been looking for a heater to warm up my 3 garage and I came across this one and thought I would give it a shot. I took my time and read all the reviews, So I knew what I was getting. There is very little assembly (takes just a Phillips, a 1/2" and 3/4" wrench). It is a little loud on high, But not loud enough to where you can't take it. I had it running on high for about 10 minutes and it took the chill out of the air and within 20 minutes I was running around my garage without a coat!!!! I turned it down to as low as I could get it and it maintained a nice cozy temp. I would recommend buying this if you are wanting to heat up a large area fast!!!! I hope this helped if you were debating on whether or not to get this.... January 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great heat and fast. I have a motorcycle shop and the weather hear in the North East has been very cold but it is no match for this heater. The shop goes from 35 to 70 in ten minutes. March 4, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Heater. Nice because unlike the torpedo heaters, this one does not need Nice because unlike the torpedo heaters, this one does not need electicity. Simple to assemble. It heats up my 2 car garage on high in a couple minutes. Then mantains a comfortable temperature on low. February 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So easy to use, no set up, just get the heat going I have had one for over 10 years and worked fine until the regulator finally went. This new one has better features and went right to work at once in my shop. Love it. December 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Instant Heat and Extremely High Output Outstanding heater. Perfect execution. If you want instant heat and LOTS of it, look no further. This heater heats my 3 car garage in less than 5 minutes at full throttle. I'm not talking ceramic heater "I-can-feel-my-fingers-now" heat, I'm talking take your shirt off heat. Yes, it is loud at full throttle. This is not a con or a design flaw; this a simple convection forced-air commercial-grade heater. It DESTROYS cold. It's loud at full throttle because it's 200,000 BTU. To put that in perspective, the popular Duraheat Kerosene heaters put out 23,000 BTU which you can boil water on top of just fine. YOU WOULD NEED NEARLY 10 KEROSENE HEATERS ON FULL BLAST TO EQUAL 1 OF THESE. It's a beast and doesn't disappoint. On maximum, it sounds like a Jet engine and the top half of the metal body will glow red hot; I actually caught my rear end on fire once standing about a foot and a half from it... whoops! But it is exponentially quieter as you reduce the volume knob (on low you can talk at normal levels just fine). Take care what your placing it under; I have accidentally set off my fire alarm a couple of times because I have a heat sensor on the ceiling of my garage, and had this heater directly under it on high. You probably don't want it under your garage door motor full blast either... just use common sense. Our garage has 10' high sheetrock ceilings, which is fine for short periods of full throttle. This unit has a built in igniter and and the body collapses to half it's height for easy storage. When I first use it after being stored for the season, I usually end up lighting it manually and turning it on for at least several seconds to burn out any spider webs or crud. I've had and used this unit for 7 years now with NO problems. Usually after January/February, Home Depot puts these on clearance for about $39-69, so hold on to your receipt ;). I have many different heaters and now use the following procedure to heat my space: I start with this propane heater on high for about 5 minutes... then shut it off. Then use Kerosene heater to "maintain" the temperature as necessary. Propane is a LOT cheaper than kerosene. I get a tank exchange at my local homedepot for less than $20... Kerosene is currently $4.29/gallon here. When this heater is used in the described fashion, the propane lasts a LONG time considering what you get out of it. On a side note, I'm using my 1500-watt electric Holmes Quartz heater in place of the kerosene heaters when possible. Electricity is cheap and can be more econimical than burning kerosene (although you will typically have less BTUs). Here's a cost breakdown and comparison: --This propane heater... 1 20lb Propane tank (about $20) = about 1.5 hours on high @ 200,000 BTUs. Noise level is moderate to loud. Maintenance free. -- Duraheat DH2304 Kerosene heater... 1 gallon K1 kerosene (about 4.25-4.50/gal)= about 8 hours on high @ 23,000 BTUs. Noise level is completely silent. Requires yearly maintenance which can be a bother, and a bit messy (changed many wicks and ignitors over the years, and hands often end up smelling like kerosene for about a day after refueling). Can also release a bit of carbon monoxide when first lighting and after turning off. --Holmes hqh307 1500w Quartz tower heater... uses 1.5 KWH [Kilowatt Hour] (which costs about $0.0135/hr or $1.08 per 8 hours... when using the rate for my local electric utility which costs $0.09/kwh)= 1 hour on high @ 5,120 BTUs. Noise level of the fan is low. Maintenance free. Zero emissions. So to sum it all up, I love this Propane heater; It does what it's supposed to and does it well. Simple, efficient, effective design. Headache free and reliable. January 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for heating a garage Heats my 32x14 insulated shop from 30 to 80 degrees in less than 10 minutes. Down side is it is extremely loud when on full blast. Heats my 32x28 partially insulated garage from 30-50 degrees in about 30 minutes. Things I dislike are the lack of a thermostat control. Only has a lever that you adjust between pilot only and full on. Also, in the manual it tells you that you will need a 100lb tank, not sure if it needs to be that large, but I can say that when it is really cold a 20lb tank will freeze up in a hurry....could probably get by with a 40lb. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality Product Product was shipped without any issues. As recommended you should use nothing less then a 100# cylinder. 20# will work initially but doesn't burn as clean. I have a 30X50 shop (insallated) and it heated it with no problem. Never did turn to the highest setting. The only negative I have is it is loud, even short of the highest setting. March 10, 2015
