I've purchased quite a few electric heaters over the years to warm our 20x20 garage in the winter. I was always disappointed in the output and all of them seemed to quit working prematurely. I needed a heater that was 1. Powerful - that would quickly heat my space 2. Portable - to use in emergencies or while outdoors 3. Mechanical - simple moving parts that won't break 4. Efficient - use a relatively cheap fuel source. 5. Safe & Easy. The Dyna-Glow 80,000 BTU Portable Convection Tower Propane Heater RMC-LPC80DG exceeded my expectations and can heat up my garage in a matter of minutes allowing me to either shut it off of turn it all the way down and conserve fuel. I would caution that when turning the starter and igniting the pilot the for the first time it may startle you, but no need to worry as the flames stay tucked inside the canister. Also, be sure and hold the starter knob down while igniting the pilot for a 1-2 seconds even after it lights to ensure it is fully lit. I've done a lot of research and believe that for the price this heater is an exceptional value compared to the plug and heat models.

I purchased this heater to heat my uninsulated garage. The garage is around 600sf with 2 uninsulated garage doors and no insulation in the walls. This heater warmed it up from 28 degrees to 80 degrees in 8 minutes on the highest setting. After reaching 80 degrees i adjusted the selector to the lowest setting and it held the temp at 80. I only wish the hose was a little longer so it could be connected to a 100 lb tank and have enough hose to get under the garage door and get the heater far enough from the inside of the garage door. The supplied hose measures 10 feet. A 15 to 20 ft hose would be nice. Overall i would highly recommend this heater.

If you need temporary heat for short periods at a time, buy this,it will get the job done.
If you are like me and need this for a contacting job, be prepared to return the product when the thermostat breaks down. This heater will keep you warm at full blast/daily use for about 2/3 months and then it will die and you can not get replacement parts, I'm on my second one this season.
I gave it 3 stars because it works, just no long life! But spend extra $$ if you want something for commercial use!

I purchased this product a few weeks ago to use in my wood working shop that I have been building. I use to have a torpedo style propane heater and it worked very well. But I really like how much quieter this style is comparatively to the other. It does seem to use more propane though than the torpedo heater. It may just be because of the temperature outside, it has been in the low teens the past couple of weeks? Also the igniter doesn’t want to work as the temperatures fall closer to zero degrees. So bring some long matches? Other than that, I have no complaints, it does what it’s supposed to do.

Started this little puppy up when it was 9 degrees out and within an hour, it was 72 in my garage. It is insulated but no drywall or roof insulation. Also garage doors aren't sealed. If you need heat quick, this is where it's at. A little propane thirsty but that's expected. I just run it at the lowest setting.

Easy to assemble. The only cons are that it sucks gas and you need to keep your space well ventilated. Which helps to defeat the purpose in cold weather. Other than that it kicks heat out great. 1500 sq ft garage and it stays toasty.

Only problem we have is that we can't get the flame to lower when on low. How can I get this to really be on low? Is there another regulator to lower the flame and heat?
