Answer:
Yes, while we were at Home Depot, we were shown an attachment that can be used instead of the line. We didn't purchase it because we already have a small gas saw we use.

Answer:
Don't know, but the SRM-225 has no attachments. If you want to be able to use a saw or something this one can't. It works great, but it's just a trimmer nothing else.

Yes it is. I have been using the SRM225 professionally and it does a fine job. I have one that is still running fine after 5 years with just routine maintenance.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 963 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the money I've had many string trimmers over the years, but this Echo has been the best by far. This trimmer is light, powerful, quieter than average and reliable. I'm glad I didn't opt for the larger engine, as the 21.2cc has plenty of power and easily tore through two foot tall grasses and weeds. I cut the meadow across the stream and the neighbor's hillside too, on less than a tank of gas; and unlike my previous trimmer, I do not feel the need to wear hearing protection. I previously purchased a Echo blower/vac, and am very please with it as well. Echo does cost a little more than the average, but it once again proves that you get what you pay for. June 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product so far. Your mileage may vary. After researching quality, durable trimmers, I decided on this model.Note the "i" at the end. It has been very useful and very functional and works as reviewed. I also bought the steel blade attachment kit which is awesome. I only wish that switching back and forth between string trimmer and blade was not as involved as it is, but given the difference in guard types, etc, this is acceptable. Durability is still undetermined, but the device seems pretty solidly built. The shoulder harness (part of the blade kit) is highly recommended. June 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid, reliable trimmer Bought this a month ago and already put over 40 hours on this machine. Easy starting, reliable, trimmer cord is easy to replace and cuts through heavy weeds with ease. The only drawback is I bought without harness and fatigue on the wrists and hands after an hour on the trimmer is very evident. Highly recommend, however only drawback is the weight on the hands and wrists over a period of time. July 28, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by warranty no good Was less than a year old and had to have a new carb....just quit running suddenly.... Echo will not warranty any fuel issues....even if you use their fuel.....5 year warranty is a joke. I have 2 other two cycle pieces of equipment using the same fuel and they are running fine. Plus Dealer has had it for over 3 weeks putting a carb on...... Back to walmart to buy the throw aways.....at least they run for 3 years.....then toss em and buy another.....cheaper in the long run... Echo has lost a customer.....and by the way.....you can't post a negative review on their website...they won't let you.....so all of those positive testimontals are filtered..... June 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best product This weed eater is very powerful and light easy to use starts quickly every time I enjoy it recommend it June 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works great I just bought a srm.225 today 5/13/16 to replace my old srm 2300 that I bought in either 2000/2001.I have read that you can not use pas/att on the 225.I have all ready used my pas power pruner on it .worked fine. May 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolute BEAST!! I did many reviews and ended up buying this model. Right out of the box it started right up. No adjusts to be made to carburetor like some . I have a large yard that was over grown badly because I was waiting for old Craftsman trimmer to be fixed. It was gonna cost more to fix then it was worth, so I went and picked this up today 6/4/16. I was skeptical on the smaller engine. Don't be, this thing took down everything I put it through, and only used 2/3 of a tank of gas. And it never once loaded up the head with tall grass wrapped around it that I would normally have to stop and clear off it. The 21.2cc engine is very powerful. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. June 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice and Easy to Start Fast shipping, came fully assembled. Chops weeds effectively. Starts easily. Would recommend to anyone. April 28, 2015
