Can I use the 3" splice to connect two of the 90 degree elbows?

I need to configure a U-turn which would be 15" wide. (Your ready-made U-turn parts of 12" and 21" won't suit my needs.) Can I shorten the 90 degree elbows so that they are 9" x 6" instead of 9 x 9? Can I place the bracket under the splice?

Maggie, yes that is the best method to create a "15" wide U-turn". You may have to also shorten the 3" splice and definitely use plenty of metal epoxy. Remember to cut the elbows with a 60-80 tooth wood saw blade. Metal cutting blades melt the alloy and do not butt together well. Placing a bracket under the splice is highly recommended and especially if you shorten the splice. We are always Read More
