Answer:
The fingers rotate out of the fixture to tighten. When you rotate it the other way (lefty, loosey) it comes out.

Which housings will work with the EcoSmart 4 or 6 in. 9.5-Watt (65W) LED Downlight with GU24 base (E)? Would I use a standard housing and use some sort of adapter for the GU24 connection or are there specific housings with GU24 connections? This will be in my soon-to-be finished basement.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product, very good value These are California Title-24-compliant bulbs. If you have existing 4" cans with a screw-in socket, you can just unscrew the socket mount inside the recessed can, clip the 2 wires (black and white, doesn't matter which is which), use the GU24 conversion clips and snap together the new connection of the LED lights. Easy to install, takes only a minute or two per light. The new lights are 2700K so it's warm and dims really well with Lutron low-voltage LED dimmer switches. It's hard to beat EcoSmart's pricing (especially when compared to the Cree CR4-575-GU24 product, around $56 each!), which is pretty much exactly the same thing. March 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by airtight conversion to LED at good price These LED inserts fit into 4in recessed lighting cans. The design makes the converted fixture essentially airtight, thus solving my problem of air leakage into the attic above the fixture. They are sufficiently cool that insulation can be placed directly over the cans in the attic. Installation into existing cans only takes a couple of minutes. They are sold singly at the HomeDepot at a lower unit price than what's currently on the web site. They dim smoothly, no noise. They don't turn off completely at the lowest dimmer setting, I use the switch at the dimmer to turn them completely off. They look fine, nothing special. Even at 2700K "warmth" the light seems a little more white than the incandescent bulbs I used before but it's really close. April 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong housing recommended This light requires 4" housing not 5" as stated in description. February 25, 2013
