I am looking to store two 18" overall width steel bins side-by-side on this, and I am wondering if they will fit fine, just barely, or not at all.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The 36" is the OUTSIDE dimension not the inside dimension. i think you would be better suited to have a 48" wide shelving unit like HD sku 351-430.
I hope this helps you with your purchasing decision.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately those 2 bins would not fit if they are Deeper than 24". If they are less than 24" in depth then they would fit just fine.
I hope this helps.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overpriced Overall the shelves do the job that they were intended to do. Assembly is a 2 peron job! Not because anything is comlicated but because you can't hold eveything in place with just 2 hands. I think the price point is too high. I would like to see these shelves under $200. $330 with tax is too much. April 30, 2011
