Answer:
Gas logs do not come with blowers. You should check any paperwork that came with your firebox/fireplace. Blowers are accessories for fireboxes and you must have a firebox that can accept a blower. No timer on remote. The remote allows you to adjust flame height...not an actual temperature setting.

Can the gas line enter the fire box from the left side?

The installation instructions show the gas line entering the firebox on the right side. Can the unit be reversed to accommodate a gas line entering the firebox on the left side. Or can I use the 3/8" copper tubing to run under the burner unit to the fitting?

Answer:
Yes...you may need a longer gas supply line to run behind the unit. It comes with a 12" bendable aluminum supply line so you'll need to purchase a longer one.

The fireplace width at the rear is 19"; at the front it is 27" and it is 13" deep. Which log set with remote starter will fit?

Answer:
The VMO24RNG will fit. There is also a model: VMO24RNGA that's a slightly different version. It will fit also. Or you can look at the SCVFR24 set. It also has a remote. The "VMO" models are vented. The "SCVFR" models are vent free.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product for the price I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews regarding broken log pieces, but our unit came fully intact. One complaint is that the piece of gas line tubing provided was only 15 inches long. Our stubbed out gas line was on the left side of the fireplace, but the connection on the burner was on the right side, so no way the tubing was long enough. Trip to the hardware store took care of the issue, but it was an unnecessary inconvenience. Instructions for log placement was a poor photo copy; luckily was able to find another online. Also, the instructions for the remote control are the last section covered in the manual; I had put the unit together in the fireplace with glowing embers etc when I determined that the battery compartment for the remote receiver was under the unit. I thought I was going have to disassemble the whole thing to access the battery compartment, but I was able to prop the unit up to gain access. Make sure to read the entire directions before starting assembly. Otherwise, love the set and use it almost every evening. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice Very nice log set. Customer loved the remote. Battery set up kinda hard and flex line not quite long enough but worked out. Would of been helpful if you could actually see the log placement guide in pic but is black and white and dark. Just takes some time to figure out log placement. Nice log set especially for the money. Is loud on high like other reviews stated. Would recommend February 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great, shipping horrid The log set looks great, just like a real fireplace fire! Loving it in the cool mornings with my cup of coffee. Puts out a surprisingly good bit of heat too! The issue, like many others have stated, is the packaging for shipping. We had 3 broken logs show up. I don't know how they think they can ship something this heavy and breakable with such little padding. Rediculous! Home Depot was great to call the company & get the replacement logs sent for me. Haven't received them yet though so crossed fingers! Also, you can hear the gas running a bit, but if you adjust your gas down some it's not bothersome. Overall, I would purchase again with better S&H. October 20, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by works fine but logs were not 24 inches as advertised.... logs were 20'' not 24' as advertised. installation was easy as long as you have a tubing bender, flairing tool and tubing cutter. December 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by gas fireplace log ser. This product was well worth the price. Easy to install works well January 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by looks very realistic Great product and a great deal. Easy to install if you are comfortable making gas connections.the remote control feature is awesome. wife loves it! February 15, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong burner assembly, cheap parts. This unit came with the wrong burner assembly. It is supposed to be a 24 inch unit, but the burner plate was only 15.75" wide. Even trying to assemble the parts on the floor with the included grate, it was clear there was no way to make the burner fit under the grate. A call to the manufacturer confirmed it was the wrong width burner. To be fair, they apologized. They advised me to return it to the store because it would take "weeks" to get me a replacement. A better company would have overnighted me the correct part. Since my unit had obviously already been opened once - and the same discovery was probably made before me - my guess is that someone else will have the joy of discovering this after I return it. I'm going with a different brand altogether. Not impressed with the quality of the parts either. Very cheap solid aluminum "flexible" gas line that was kinked out of the box, for example. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fireplace Logs I had to have a plumber install it.I recently had knee replacement surgery and am not permitted to kneel. It is something I have done before and found it to be simple. December 10, 2014
