Digital Laser Level is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from professional tool with precision measurement This tool has true blue vials made in the USA. That means it has guaranteed accuracy for every project. Out of the box, it is obvious that this tool is of quality construction. It is weighty and of solid construction. The rubber end caps are especially nice to help with shock resistance if dropped. The audio beep is very nice when in tight situations where it is difficult to see the gauge. The level automatically inverts for reading upside down, when using on the ceiling. It will display digital percent slope and degrees. After five minutes, the tool has an auto shut off. The blue case is also very nice for storage. My husband loves this tool and used it immediately to level shelving being installed in our basement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from heavy first thing I noticed was how heavy this level is, may be a good thing meaning it's made well, but heavier than any of my other levels this size. The readout is very bright and clear, and has a lit background on the readout for darker areas. Calibration was very easy, and seems to hold well. The laser is bright and sharp, but don't really think I would trust it at a distance. The case is a plus, very snug fit and well padded. The only issue I would have with the digital readout, is when it's cold out (I am in MN) it doesn't work well until it warms up some

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A well-made, accurate level. This level is intended to be primarily used with the digital readout, which is accurate to within 1/20 degree. It's very well made of solid aluminum with precision machined leveling surfaces. It comes with a nice padded fabric carrying case. You have to hold the buttons for a couple of seconds to activate them to prevent accidental activation. The display comes on with a blue backlight, but pressing the on/off button momentarily will turn the backlight off while leaving the display on. The instruction manual is terse but complete. I performed the calibration procedure and the digital readout compared OK with the bubble vial. One feature I really like are arrows in the display showing which end of the level needs to be raised or lowered and, when within 3 degrees, by how much, displayed by shortening the length of the arrow shaft as it gets closer to level. The laser is bright, easily visible at 50 feet indoors. The level uses two AA batteries, which were not included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very high tech I have owned many levels but no digital ones until now. Standard of Empire is the high quality construction and assembly, so there is no question that what you are getting is not only durable but accurate. I like the bubble vials for backup and calibration, should the level ever need it. I also like the chime that lets you know when you are level (0 and 90 degrees). I also like the backlit screen that is easy to read. It is user-friendly but I suggest reading the manual if you have never used a digital level before. I wish I had had this before, even just the chime, for leveling floors so I could have left it on the floor above and just jacked until it told me to stop. However any application will be fine where a level is needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from precise and convenient Once you've used a digital level there's no going back. It's just so much quicker and easier than fiddling with a bubble level, and seems a lot more accurate. This one works as expected and has a very readable LCD display - large, good contrast, and back-lit so it's visible in bright sunlight or a dark corner. It can 'beep' when you get level, so you don't even have to look - really handy at times. Works in horizontal or vertical orientation, includes a laser to put a line across a wall, and hey, even tells you the temperature. It will optionally read out in inches/foot, for jobs like installing a rain gutter where it's the slope over a distance that matters. Comes with a padded bag so you won't beat it up or crack the display. Yes it may be overkill for the average DIY guy but like I said, there's no going back once you've tried it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can I level with you I have an old light weight 2 foot aluminum level with the standard 3-vials. Yes it has served it purpose, but being so light weight and oops dropped a few times, you start to second guess whether or not it is always a correct measurement . So what do you do ? , get another level . Now which one is right. If you are in a trade were being level matters and you don't want to have second guess all the time , you have to purchase a quality product. Yes this level has 12 different features but it is still a standard 3 vial level ( on steroids ). It even comes with a lightly padded zippered carrying case. The [2-"AA"] back lit digital display has 3 buttons on each side of the display to access the different functions, it even has audio. There is a learning curve , read the manual then use it or experiment with the functions so you get use to what it can do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Technology + Tools= Heaven for me I am an integrator for high end audio/video and broadcast systems and this laser level is making my job so much easier! At 2' long, it is easier to use than a 4' or larger level, it is easier to store when not in use as well. The only real complaint I have is the end that the laser comes out of it shows the distance from the bottom of the level to the center of the laser at 1.375", OK I know what that is from memory, but if someone doesn't know how to change that into a fraction so they can read it on a tape measure, it kinda defeats the purpose. Why not just say 1 3/8"?? Either way, it has made me a more efficient integrator and I am always looking for ways to work smarter, not harder. Definitely going to get used multiple times a week! Plus, its an Empire, great warranty, and they always make fantastic products. I have owned over a dozen of their levels and none of them have had any issues, they just get borrowed and never!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Accurate I was skeptical about this after reading many reviews of the 48" model. To my surprise, the thing is fantastic! It was easy to zero and took about 1 minute to do so. Since zeroing it, I have not had any problems with it, even after a couple accidental drops. It is built solid. It has a display panel that displays the temperature when you turn it on. Nice feature, and interesting, but not necessary. You can change the display to show the angle of slope, the inches rise over feet, or the percentage rise, and works upside-down as well. It does not work while lying flat though. The display is back-lit and that back-lighting can be turned off. The level has 2 liquid filled vials for reassurance, or if the batteries die. The level has an audio alarm that chimes when "level" is achieved. This alarm can also be turned off. The laser is very cool. I mean we're guys and like cool things like that, right? If the laser is on, a red light in the Empire logo also turns on to let you know that the laser is on. That is a nice reminder. Overall I think this level is great! Although expensive for a few extra features, I still recommend it.
