These stair treads seem durable and tough. I am waiting for the next rain/ice storm to see how they do their job. These treads can shift slightly on the painted wooden stair where they reside even when dry. I have high hopes they will work.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dennis Good quality so far...
Thick, recycled rubber in Terra Cotta complimented our deck color and at a good price (sold in pairs only). Easy to screw down in place. Time will tell if they hold up over several Northeast winters...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by vafarmlady Great for outdoor decks and porches!
I was doubting that the treads would stay in place without nails or glue, but I have had them on my front porch steps for a while, through rain, wind, etc., and they do not move! We have a large dog that loves to run up and down stairs, and with all of his running, those treads have not moved an inch!! They also provide great traction during rainy days, and in snow as well. A great product for the money!

Used this on our stairs in Los Angeles and bought more for our place in snow country AZ. Have used recycled rubber 'walkboard' (approx 3' x 4') to cover our exposed AZ deck and it holds up. Was delighted to find this stair tread at our local Home Depot. Could not recommend this product more highly. Recycled tires and it stands up to snow, heat and lots of use.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bridgedude Real good idea for treated lumber steps
Would like to rate after the winter. Might give a better or different rating then. Got these about a week ago for the steps on our new treated timber decks. They get really slippery after rain. Felt like I needed something for rain and for snow. Looks to be really well made ( looks like pressed recycled tire shavings?) , and are heavy enough to stay put with out nails, glue , etc. One side is smooth ( the side I put down on top of steps), while the other side has a peak and valley texture that gives good traction for shoes and boots. Wanted something that I could take up to shovel the snow on the steps, yet stay in place during strong winds. These do just fine.

When it rains here in Washington (and it does frequently) the wooden deck steps are VERY SLIPPERY so I put these on the steps to kept from falling. They work great.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Babs Great protection for steps and great to prevent falling
This item is just what I expected. Be sure to measure your steps because you cannot cut this item down to size. One of my steps was not deep enough and hangs over the step. It doesn't hang over by very much, and since I glued it down, it isn't a fall worry however, I wish I had ordered the right size (if it even comes in that size - I didn't check). Still, I mainly wanted to prevent my 85 year old mother from falling on my steps and this works!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Allie Should have bought these long ago
I bought these stair treads to help my limited mobility dog climb the slippery deck steps and they work perfectly! They stay put when my 65 lb. dog scrambles up or down the stairs. They make me feel more secure on the steps when it is wet outside. They can be used with a smooth side up (my preference) or with the tread side up. I prefer the tread side down to allow for some air flow underneath to allow steps to dry after a rain.
