This 16 oz. rip claw nail hammer is forged in one piece solid steel, and fully polished. Balance and temper are unsurpassed. It has a bonded and molded on Shock Reduction Grip that reduces shock up to 70% and will not come off. Estwing hammers are the only hammers that can make this claim. Both the head and handle are forged in one piece solid steel and have an attractive blue UV coating. This is the perfect hammer for general, and light to medium duty. Nail hammers are designed for striking common and finishing nails and nail sets. Made in the USA. Protect your eyes from flying particles and dust. Always wear safety goggles. Bystanders shall also wear safety goggles.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Value I have owned this hammer for several years now and it surpasses any other claw hammer that I have owned or used. It is very well balanced and has a good grip. I have used it a fair bit and it shows no signs of wear or tear. November 8, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simply the best I've used Estwing hammers before and it's still the best hammer to have... April 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Update from previous review I bought this to replace my 15 year old hammer that was lost in a move in order to do some remodeling in our house. You can't go wrong with these hammers. These or the 20 oz will work great IMO, but I have always liked the 16 oz. I have used it for demo, framing and trim work. I do not like the long handles of framing hammers, and nor would I really need one. This hammer fits the bill completely for me. Yeah, the poly film has worn off, and the hammer has taken a look of an aged hammer with it's dark patina, giving it character, and it does have some dings other use. It is light, and takes what you give it. Even in the era of air nailing equipment, there is a reason these are some of the best selling hammers out there. It will fit the bill for the rest of my life, and my kids will get use of it after I am gone. If you want a lightweight general use hammer that will last a lifetime, this one will fit the bill. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Estwing hammer - a good buy I have several Estwing hammers. They have the best balance of any I have tried. December 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hammer Had 2 of them on our mini ranch. One for the garage and one for the barn. Somehow one of them disappeared so I did without for about 3 years thinking I had misplaced it somewhere on the property, but it never showed. Looked at a lot of hammers for about 6 months, but nothing felt as good as the one I lost. So I finally bought the same exact kind I lost, and all is right in the world again. January 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ol' Pinger rings on For years, Estwing hammers have been notorious for their ping when hitting a nail or other metal tool, hence why they have been called "singing hammers". I bought one to replace one I had lost in a move from Indiana to Tennessee and it is just as good as the day I bought it. I have used it as a hammer and pry bar and it has taken it and than some. I would recommend a 16 oz Pinger to anyone looking for a good hammer to last a lifetime. My father in law still has his old 16 oz Estwing that he has had since the early 80s. It built his house as well as several others. The handle is very smooth from years of use, and the side of the hammer has dents and dings, but it is still ready to build more houses if need be or any other job that it may require. That is a true testament to pride, quality and products made in the USA. I hope one day my Estwing will be a treasured heirloom for my kids. Look at an aged Estwing and think "If this hammer could talk, not just ping, the stories it would tell". If you want a great quality hammer, that will last year after year and job after job, an Estwing hammer will do the job, but the 16 oz has just worn on me as a favorite. February 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad for the money spent Lost my hammer of over 10 years, purchased this to replace the same trim hammer. August 12, 2014
