Yes it does. You may have to use different hardware or make modifications to your gate to make it fit, depending on your application.

I don't see why not. It will fix all sagging gates. Depending how thick the vinyl material is, I may consider different screws because the ones supplied may tear out of the vinyl over time. If the vinyl material is thin (less than 1/8 inch) then corrosion resistant (outdoor) bolts, nuts and washers that go thru the entire gate might be a better choice. They are available in stainless steel (the best choice, but expensive), aluminum and vinyl. Size 1/4 inch - 20 would be a good choice. Drill thru the entire gate and choose bolts and washers that fit. You will have to drill 1/4 inch holes in the bracket hardware. Ensure you use washers to prevent the bolt from wearing thru the vinyl. Read Less

What can I use to stop my gates from sagging? There is a hinge at the top that prevents me from using the cables kit you offer.

I have two large 6' tall gates that are each 5' wide, they open together to make a wide entrance. They are both starting to sag. What can I put on them to stop them from sagging. I can't use the bracket in the kit you sell at the top corners because of the hinge being in the way. Can you suggest another way to keep them from sagging?

Thanks,

Linda M.

Check out my picture and see it that helps & answers your question about using this kit. This is a gate we had to completely rebuild due to sagging and put the kit on with the gate hardware right when we completed it (the gate build was inferior so it could not be saved with just the anti-sag kit in this case). Get the anti-sag kit on right away because we found the more your gate sags, it may also torque or twist so even those the anti-sag kit will pull the gate back to level which is what you need, it might not fix the twisting or torquing. The one gate I didn't have this one when we built it sagged and torqued some and I had to add a stop at the front bottom of my gate after the anti-sag kit to completely fix the torquing even though the gate was no longer sagging. I'd take a picture of it but it's raining too much! ;) Read Less

Hi Linda M.,
It's a little hard to make a suggestion without seeing the placement of the troublesome hinge. There is an alternative gate kit sized to fit your gate which I'll link to below. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

Anti-Sag Gate Kit is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works but not for all I saw a lot of packages that were resealed and I wondered why. Comparing to a brand new one all the pieces were there. In fact even the braided wire was still neatly zip-tied and the bag of screws unopened. I wondered why till I got home and started to put it together. The issue is the angle braces. They fit on one side of my gate but the other side the hinge gets in the way. I resolved this by only using one brace and on the gate and the other side I looped it around one of the hinge screws. I could do it better by replacing the screw with a bolt and washer or an eye bolt to make it more secure. See the attached photos It did resolve my sagging gate problem though.

I decided to purchase it anyway for a new (sagging) gate that I recently built and hung. Other than the instructions on the back of the package not being very clear I was able to figure it out and installed the kit in less than 30 minutes. This included the time needed to get my tools and drill. I just installed it today and so far it appears to be doing everything that it was intended to do.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Anti sag kit Been a fence installer for years looking for a product that does a good job pulling a bit of the initial drop when you install new gates. Top anchor does get in the way of the hinge I have to clip one edge and screw or to face of hinge. When you tighten it though it pulls the bottom out of line so you can barley lift the gate trusses best work is they are pulling from the center of the gate not flush on outside of 2x4

I needed something to prop up an elderly neighbor’s gate that was going to work, be relatively inexpensive and be easy to install and this anti-sag kit did exactly that. The poor guy couldn’t hardly open his side gate to access his backyard anymore because it was sagging so bad. I purchased and installed this for him in just a few minutes and voila, he could open his gate again.

Thin cable and aluminum turnbuckle adequate for lighter gates, but the corner bracket attach points are inane. Most gates will have a hinge already located where these bracket must be mounted. Do yourself a favor and buy some eye bolts along with the kit to save yourself a second trip to the store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pretty awful I had higher expectations for this, the kit I purchased was short a wood screw, not a big deal, however the deal breaker was the aluminum turnbuckle that stripped out upon tightening making the kit worthless. This isn't even a defect, its an under engineered part. There's just no way that the aluminum in this kit will lift the sag of any but the lightest of gates. (and a gate that light probably doesn't need an anti-sag in the first place. The other hardware is steel and seems adequate. Its really disappointing to have to return to the store to rectify what should have been an easy fix. I would have to tell others to purchase the parts separately instead of this kit so you know you're getting a quality turnbuckle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the trick ! Used on my very heavy, water-soaked wooden gate. It swings square on the hinges again after this kit and took less than 30 minutes to install. I propped up the sagging (swinging) edge of the gate with a couple of pavers first to force the gate square, then applied the braces and cable. Don't forget to widen the turnbuckle before you cinch the cable. The kit works for up to 6-foot by 4-foot gates, I assume because of the max length of the cable. Mine was actually bigger; about 6X5, but I installed the lower brace on a horizontal support of the gate that was about 2 feet above the ground. Great product for this specific repair job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 8 Year Fix So Far I had a sagging gate and the wood was great but had developed sag. For around 10 bucks, problem solved. That was 8 years ago and still going strong. Cheap price and extremely easy to install.
