I don't see why not. It will fix all sagging gates. Depending how thick the vinyl material is, I may consider different screws because the ones supplied may tear out of the vinyl over time. If the vinyl material is thin (less than 1/8 inch) then corrosion resistant (outdoor) bolts, nuts and washers that go thru the entire gate might be a better choice. They are available in stainless steel (the best choice, but expensive), aluminum and vinyl. Size 1/4 inch - 20 would be a good choice. Drill thru the entire gate and choose bolts and washers that fit. You will have to drill 1/4 inch holes in the bracket hardware. Ensure you use washers to prevent the bolt from wearing thru the vinyl. Read Less

Yes it does. You may have to use different hardware or make modifications to your gate to make it fit, depending on your application.

What can I use to stop my gates from sagging? There is a hinge at the top that prevents me from using the cables kit you offer.

I have two large 6' tall gates that are each 5' wide, they open together to make a wide entrance. They are both starting to sag. What can I put on them to stop them from sagging. I can't use the bracket in the kit you sell at the top corners because of the hinge being in the way. Can you suggest another way to keep them from sagging?

Thanks,

Linda M.

Check out my picture and see it that helps & answers your question about using this kit. This is a gate we had to completely rebuild due to sagging and put the kit on with the gate hardware right when we completed it (the gate build was inferior so it could not be saved with just the anti-sag kit in this case). Get the anti-sag kit on right away because we found the more your gate sags, it may also torque or twist so even those the anti-sag kit will pull the gate back to level which is what you need, it might not fix the twisting or torquing. The one gate I didn't have this one when we built it sagged and torqued some and I had to add a stop at the front bottom of my gate after the anti-sag kit to completely fix the torquing even though the gate was no longer sagging. I'd take a picture of it but it's raining too much! ;) Read Less

Hi Linda M.,
It's a little hard to make a suggestion without seeing the placement of the troublesome hinge. There is an alternative gate kit sized to fit your gate which I'll link to below. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good idea, needs improvrment The cable is only 1/8", a bit light for my use, but worked. It was too short for my door. I did not like the 2 supplied cable clamps, I needed 4 for my installation so I bought 4 of the normal u-bolt type and used them. Reason I had to use 4 clamps was I had a large door and had to run the cable single rather than doubled as the kit was intended to be used. A good idea, needs some help. Steve May 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It does correct a sag & prevent them! We have 5 of these. The first gate we put this on after the sag. While it helped correct it, we need a second turnbuckle to completely fix the problem. The rest of the gates we put them on as we built them and they worked even better. I would highly recommend no matter what gate hardware you use that you have the anti-sag kit on as well. Even when we used the heavy duty gate hardware to build the gate, the potential to sag was still very high because of the weight of the gate (over 4' wide) so these help prevent that. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the trick ! Used on my very heavy, water-soaked wooden gate. It swings square on the hinges again after this kit and took less than 30 minutes to install. I propped up the sagging (swinging) edge of the gate with a couple of pavers first to force the gate square, then applied the braces and cable. Don't forget to widen the turnbuckle before you cinch the cable. The kit works for up to 6-foot by 4-foot gates, I assume because of the max length of the cable. Mine was actually bigger; about 6X5, but I installed the lower brace on a horizontal support of the gate that was about 2 feet above the ground. Great product for this specific repair job. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works but not for all I saw a lot of packages that were resealed and I wondered why. Comparing to a brand new one all the pieces were there. In fact even the braided wire was still neatly zip-tied and the bag of screws unopened. I wondered why till I got home and started to put it together. The issue is the angle braces. They fit on one side of my gate but the other side the hinge gets in the way. I resolved this by only using one brace and on the gate and the other side I looped it around one of the hinge screws. I could do it better by replacing the screw with a bolt and washer or an eye bolt to make it more secure. See the attached photos It did resolve my sagging gate problem though. August 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked fine for me Installed easily and worked good, I coated the turnbuckle hardware with automotive grease to prevent corrosion. I had to readjust the tension once in about 4 months. November 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I was extremely Skeptical, but it worked for me! My 4 feet wide by 6 feet tall dog eared shadow box fence gate was sagging. I propped the gate up just above level and installed the kit. I used a Ryobi cordless drill with Philips bit, 7/16 socket and rachet, adjustable crescent wrench and installed it in less than 30 minutes. The gate actually works like its suppose to for the first time in 3 years. Time will tell if it will continue to solve my issue because this is a heavy gate! Also, I didn't turn the turnbuckle as tight as I would have like to because I believe I would have stripped it out because it's not commercial quality. July 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty awful I had higher expectations for this, the kit I purchased was short a wood screw, not a big deal, however the deal breaker was the aluminum turnbuckle that stripped out upon tightening making the kit worthless. This isn't even a defect, its an under engineered part. There's just no way that the aluminum in this kit will lift the sag of any but the lightest of gates. (and a gate that light probably doesn't need an anti-sag in the first place. The other hardware is steel and seems adequate. Its really disappointing to have to return to the store to rectify what should have been an easy fix. I would have to tell others to purchase the parts separately instead of this kit so you know you're getting a quality turnbuckle. July 30, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor quality Purchased this to fix our sagging gate that is well within the dimensions on the package. The turnbuckle is made from very poor quality aluminum and stripped with only a little bit of tension on it. I would recommend an upgraded turnbuckle and I believe it would work just fine.
