Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MP Great bulb for theater dressing rooms
Decided to try LEDs in the hair/makeup room at our local community theater. We have a series of six bulb light fixtures surrounding large makeup mirrors, with the bulbs open to the environment, so there is a possibility someone could break a regular light bulb. These bulbs are an excellent alternative to incandescent bulbs. First of all, the covering is plastic and not glass, so no risk of an actor breaking a bulb. Secondly, the bulb is brighter than its incandescent cousin, while generating absolutely no heat. For my application, these bulbs are perfect: bright white light, no heat, and no possibility of breakage.

We were hesitant initially, about buying these bulbs online without seeing them in real life. Looking at the change in all of our bathrooms and vanity areas, we conclude this is a great upgrade.
We hesitated because of other comments related to these bulbs. My opinion of some of the feedback:
- I agree with the fact that the bulbs are bright. We had incandescent light bulbs initially, which were too dark and “yellow”. We also tried compact fluorescent bulbs that were truly annoying in respect to the time it took to reach full brightness.
- Forget about the writing on the bulb. While it is there, it is invisible unless you stare at the unlit bulb.
- I love the 3000k color temperature. It is a great white light, which I prefer to anything else in bathroom/vanity areas
I would recommend these bulbs to anyone that:
- Does not need to dim the light bulbs
- Likes what looks back at them in the bathroom mirror (the bulbs are a good brightness)
- Wants to save energy
- Does not want to wait 5 minutes until the lights are on (unlike CFL)

These are really good bulbs for reducing energy consumption without sacrificing light output. At 160 lumens these are compared to 25w bulbs on the packaging, but they illuminate like 40w bulbs due to the somewhat cooler color. 40w light at 1/24th the power consumption (1.7w)! The 3000k color temperature of the light has a bit of an edge to it, but not obnoxious. Due to the 90 deg angle of the LEDs, if used on a vanity light bar there are also deeper facial shadows the closer you get to the mirror. This might be eliminated with the frosted bulbs. keep in mind also that these ARE NOT DIMMABLE. Still, for simply illuminating a bathroom these do the job perfectly. My light bar just went from 160w to 6.8w and I am very happy with it!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by UncleFloyd68 These bulbs should not be labeled soft white.
These bulbs are labeled by the manufacturer as soft white. They are actually very harsh cool white. Colors actually looked different in this light (light brown tiles looked purple.) Returned the entire case of 12 for a full refund. Still searching for true soft (warm) white LED bulbs in this style and wattage.

Bought 24 of these in Feb 2013. As of Sept 2014, only 16 are working. 1 is flashing after being on for several minutes. The light output is nowhere near the real 25W. I have these in 3 bathrooms: 8 - 8 - 5.
In the big bathrooms, it's enough light for right at and around the long vanity. If 1 goes out, we can feel the lack of light right away. In the smaller bathroom, if 1 of the 5 goes out, we need to replace right away because there's not enough light from the remaining four.
I called Feit Elec. for warranty replacement earlier. I was told that I have to send the bad ones in. Too bad, I already dropped 3 of the bad ones into those recycling containers at the nearby HomeDepot. So, I'll be sending in just the 5 bad ones on hand.
Not sure if the batch I bought is simply bad. I bought other Feit LEDs 40W and 60W equivalent and None have failed yet. Considering nearly ten dollars each, I can't recommend these to any of us out there.

I got these for an upstairs bathroom with an 8-bulb vanity fixture that would make the room very uncomfortably hot during the summer. These lights run very cool -- I can hardly feel any warmth even after they've been on for awhile. The light output is pretty good -- they're not super bright, as other reviewers have said, but being that I have a bank of 8 of them, it's bright enough for my room. I could see where only 4 or 6 might not be enough for some rooms though. The bulbs look great -- about the same as the 60W incandescents they replaced. They don't have any funky-looking vents or anything. There is a little bit of a shadow toward the top (the bulbs are mounted in my fixtures pointing down). But it's not a big problem for me. So for function and form -- 5 stars. They're a little on the pricey side, so 4 stars for value. But still well worth it if you have a room where you need to reduce the heat output of a set of lights.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by chrisawh light bulbs work well if you get them in one piece
Bulbs were a lot brighter than I expected, almost too bright. These bulbs are glass and we're shipped with no extra packaging. Four out of my 12 bulbs broke although my local store did replace the broken ones with a more expensive replacements that were in stock.

I used these in an 8-lamp fixture above a bathroom mirror, and they're perfect for it. The color temperature is far more neutral than the incandescent bulbs, and they're slightly brighter.
