Answer:
I always use the cold water for cooking, drinking and if I need to wash dishes I just use hot.
Seriously though, the recommended replacement interval is 6 months, the filter is designed for around 2000 gallons so unless you're running 11 gallons of cold water through it per day you will not exhaust the filter by the 6 month recommendation.

Generally you can use any filter system with the faucet as long as the filter systems have the same size line or you can get an adapter to the lines. You notice I said filter systems! Not every filter refill will fit in every system so I buy a couple of refills..they tend to be replaced with different models very quickly. Some filters such as this one has a cap that you screw ontop of the filter. Some do not have screw on tops and are like an inline filters, one and one out and stand alone. Read Less

Some Home Depot stores carry these filters in stock. You should check your local stores to see if they stock them. If not they can be ordered from the website.

Home Depot carries the filters. You can also find them at other stores and online but take note that there are two types - either standard and advanced cartridges, the advanced filters out smaller particles and improves taste but it is more expensive.

Answer:
Yes you can adapt it quite easily to deliver the RO Water to your ice maker. All you have to do is take the line that goes up to the Fast Flow Faucet and insert a Tee so the water can also go to your ice maker. Of course you'll need enough tubing to get to the refrigerator area.

Yes, but you would need to purchase the fittings separately and probably need some advanced skills since the fridge line is probably a different size piping and/or material.

Answer:
Filter replacement is as easy as 1-2. 1. Twist the old filter off like unscrewing a nut or bolt. The unit automatically shuts off the water. No worrying about leakage (maybe a few drops). 2. Just insert the filter and push gently up and twist to the right. Run water through the new filter for a couple minutes.

You don't have to shut off anything. A quarter turn and pull down and the filter is out. Reverse to install a new filter.

Answer:
Installing or replacing filters does not require a plumber. For the initial install, the water does need to be turned off. When replacing the filter, there is an auto-shut off in the mounting head. So the water does not need to be turned off. For more information, we can be reached at 800-388-3458.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Glad That I purchased Water Fiktration System A friend installed this under sink water Filtration system for me. It took him about 35 minutes. He said it was not difficult to install, but he wanted to make sure there were no leaks. My coffee and tea tadste better since he installed this system. My Boston Terrier drinks more water now, which is a good thing. I would like to get a filtration for my tub for bathing. This overall was a good purchase. I haven't had to change filter yet, but I'm sure it will be simple. May 26, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Under-Sink Water Filter Install Easy Install. Took about a half hour to install the filter and plumbing. City water tastes better without the chemicals and silt residue! July 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy as advertised. Filter and assembly installation was very straight forward and required minimal tools. Just make sure all your fittings are good and tight. Filter works very well and delivers nice clean odorless water. Would recommend this product to anyone, without reservations. June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I highly recommend this filter! I replaced the under-sink water filter that I've had for years with the Filtrete under-sink filter Model #3US-PS01. I highly recommend this Filtrete water filter!! What I did differently than the instructions was that I used a compression adapter (sold separately) on the cold water line that leads to my sink facet. That allowed me to connect the blue Filtete water tube directly to the "Input" side of the bracket from the cold water supply valve. I already had tubing from my drinking water filtration facet on top of my sink so I slid that same tubing into the "output" side of the mounting bracket. It worked like a charm! I now have great tasting filtered water available through the facet dispenser on top of my sink. I am a 63 year young female and the replacement took me less than 20 minutes. April 30, 2015
