CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Flotec 1HP Pool Pump I only needed the 1HP and after seeing the reviews for the Flotec 1.5HP pool pump I was somewhat hesitant. Well I should have been more hesitant. Pump lasted about 2 weeks. I first noticed the pump was making some funny noises when vacuuming the pool. After vacuuming it seemed to run fine so I figured it was an anomaly. A few days later, and lucky I was outside, the pump made some ugly noises and went quiet. I quickly went over to the pump and smelled a strong burning odor. Motor was red hot! Motor had fried and didn't trip the breaker. $450 pool pump and it lasted a few weeks. This is not a cheap pump! I will say it did run somewhat quiet and worked well for the few weeks, but after seeing other reviews about the short life expectancy I am done with Flotec. They need to do a better job with QC. Just ordered a Pentair with better specs for $319. Maybe I was just unlucky, and Flotec may work fine for you, but it sure didn't for me. January 20, 2014
