Answer:
I wouldn't recommend unless you're hanging very light items. The system works by using the leverage between the wall and the hook. If you only had the panel without drywall or a backing of some kind you'd likely get some flex in the panels.

Answer:
For a 7 foot wall you'd want to cut one panel down by 1" which isn't difficult. If you plan the cut so that the finishing pieces fit over the cut edge you won't even notice. . I had to cut holes for wall outlets and plugs using an electric saw. Cuts easily.

Answer:
Yes - you can cut the panels using a variety of blades as the panels are high cellulose PVC that metal blades can easily cut. Cut to your desired length and to accommodate electrical outlets, control panels, and similar situations.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Never thought my garage could be this organized This is a fantastic product with excellent customer service. All parts arrived in good shape and with a level, a stud finder, and a drill, very easy to install. Panels come 1 x 4 feet. Fit-together design makes the vertical panels look seamless. Love all the options for attachments but did order a bunch above and beyond those included with the starter kit. A few lessons learned to share: Plan the placement of your first panel carefully. Instinct was to put it flush with the wall but would recommend starting with the next stud over. Because drilling into a stud is key to successful install, you need to drill adjacent panels into the same stud. So, find the exact center and share that stud between two panels. If you start against the wall, this will be difficult if not impossible so some panels will not be in studs. Could use wall anchors for those spots alternatively. Check your level often and with every panel. The more level, the more seamless the vertical seams will appear. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Flow wall starter pack, great buy This product is definitely very pricey, however, I would purchase again! It's very easy to install my husband and I did 2 boxes (96 sq ft) in maybe 2 hours. The hardest part is trying to find the studs in the drywall, then its really easy to align straight and drill. We've used this in the past in 2012 and purchased this item in 2016. The product is super durable, that's why it is on the higher end. However, there our other competing products like Gladiator (which we use for items Flow Wall doesn't sell = paper towel holder and beer opener), but if Flow Wall expanded it's product line we would have stuck to the brand. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Getting your tools off the floor and organized My garage is a disaster area finally found this panel which organized my garage in just 30 minutes. I love it, and it is strong and looks good too. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome organizational tool Love this system to organize a very messy garage.. August 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product It is a great way to utilize space, quality is good and it came with enough hooks I did not have to buy extra. Easy to install, love it! August 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good product but fell short of exceptional Overall the product was good. I bought the product on sale and combined with the accessories and panels received with the starter pack, it was a good value. My only disappointment came during the installation. The ends of the panels were not square making the installation frustrating until I made the decision to manually square every end. If I had not cut the panels, the panels could not be mounted level without an unsightly gap between adjacent panels. The instructions nor reviews did not make mention of this making for a more involved installation that without the proper tools, 12" sliding miter saw, could not have happened. If the panels would have been square, it would have been awesome. For this reason I recommend but you will have to trim every panel. August 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It works- but need additional shelves that Home Depot didn't carry If I had realized what a headache it is to get additional shelves, I may not have purchased it. The hooks are fine, but this started kit just didn't give you enough shelves. I had to go to the manufacturer site to purchase additional shelves - ending then at over $800 for a shelving unit. I might have gotten a different system all together as this ended up just being way too pricey. September 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install and change Easy to install and change to suit my needs. The panels were easy to cut with a jig saw to fit around my outlets and electrical panel. September 24, 2014
