If your window is Painted or has a stained finish, apply ice to the residue for 10-20 seconds and then you can rub off lightly with your fingers. Using ice in this way helps perserve the finish to the window. there are a couple of product made specifically for removing tape residue-"Goof-Off" and Goo-Gone". they work very well. Caution though, test an area on the window frame first that is not visible to make sure it will not harm the finish on your window. Read Less

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hard time peeling off backing... This tape works great once you get the back to peel off. When it is stuck on to a clean surface, it is stuck for good. Also I had to put it around an outside screen, and it is absolutely weather proof. After getting half way through the roll, I could no longer get it to peel. I even put it in the fridge, that didn't help. I may have had a bad roll. Otherwise it would have been perfect. August 10, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Impossible to remove I purchased this product for the windows in my 250 year old home in an effort to mitigate cold air intrusion. This spring I decided to remove it and it turned into a nightmare. It took hours using acetone in an effort to get the gum and tape residue off. May 20, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Works in a pinch This product would be fine if the adhesive worked well. In less than a month, sections of the weatherseal are coming off the door frame. January 17, 2012
