Hello Saraok - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you.
The freezer shelf dimensions are approximately 22-3/4" wide and 19-7/8" deep. So you should not have a problem setting your 9" x 13" casserole dish inside.
I hope this helps! Thank you for checking with us!

I've had this unit for 3 weeks and when its running, it is loud. It's working, freezing and doesn't appear to have any functional issues. We have the unit in the laundry room by the garage and we are able to hear it in almost every room, its that loud.

Is it defective or supposed to be that loud?

Bought the same freezer, it makes some noise but isn't loud, cannot hear it in the next room - so maybe there is an issue with yours...

Since I do not feel that the freezer that I purchased is loud, I would have yours checked. I can hardly hear it in the living room which is the next room over from the kitchen with a bathroom and hallway in between. Maybe I have selective hearing or I am deaf, but when it goes on, it is hardly noticeable.

Hello,
This is Donna with GE and I am happy to assist you with your new GE Frost Free Upright Freezer model # FUF14SVRW.
It is normal to hear a boiling, gurgling, or knocking sound can be heard when the unit is running.
This is caused by the circulation of refrigerant.
If you feel it is very loud or unusual, then I recommend to have a service technician come out to evaluate
under the warranty. Please

Does this Freezer automatically turn back ON, AFTER an power outage?

This question is from 13.7 cu. ft. Frost Free Upright Freezer in White
Asked by

If we are out of town for a week, and if there is a quick power outage in the area (due to weather), will this freezer automatically back on & run automatically on its own when the power is back? Otherwise, our foods will all be rotten and the freezer will smell horrible afterward.

13.7 cu. ft. Frost Free Upright Freezer in White is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 300.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware!!!!! I purchased this freezer two years ago and a few days ago the digital electrical control on the door went out. Without this control the unit completely shuts down. I lost a thousand dollars or more in seafood and other meats. While in search of the replacement part I learned that the original part frequently breaks but was told that the replacement part had a better history. I contacted GE to inquire if there was a recall on the part but was told no. While GE would not replace the part they did offer to reimburse $100 toward the food loss. The cost of the part and service call is almost half of the cost of the unit. Buyer beware!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Short life on control module Bought this freezer Sept 2009 and it failed last week. Alarm did not go off and Hi Heat indacator didn't lite either. Went to put food in and noticed stuff already in it was soft. Went to lower temp but module wouldn't work. Today the serviceman informed me that module control was gone. He said that freezer should not be kept in area that does not maintain a temp of 60 - 80 degrees. Control works like a computer. In the manuel it says not to put in temps below 0 and above 110. Cost for new control $333.00 Wanting to go back to the old kind of controls I checked with consumer digest and the Whirlpool 15.8 cu ft Frost Free got very high marks. I ordered one today and should have it but next Wed.I

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far, So Good This upright freezer was delivered and placed in the garage. I have been concerned about the effect of the Florida heat and humidity on my electric bill and on the freezer itself. Time will tell. The freezer works very well. It froze water quickly after delivery and I was able to place a small amount of food in there. By the next day, I put all of my overflow in there. The temperature stayed consistant. When you open the door, everything is so easily visible. Now I can happily take advantage of great deals in the supermarkets - one for now, one for later. No regrets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FANTASTIC APPLIANCE...FANTASTIC BUY! I was impressed with this freezer, as it contains features of bigger and more expensive models. While many reviewers claimed it is a "very noisy" appliance, I found it to be quite the opposite. It is whisper quiet. If you have to keep the door open for an extensive period of time, lets say to put items in or re-arrange, then the compressor kicks in and it does have a loud noise for a few minutes, but shortly after closing the door, it returns to it's quiet operation. The delivery people were very conscientious in calling, were on time, very accommodating and left no mess. I am really thrilled with this purchase in every aspect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just a little noisy We purchased this freezer to replace one that has been in the basement for several years. This new one is in our kitchen for convenience. When the compressor runs it is very loud. We recommend placing it in an area where noise will not be a factor. We've found no other problems with the unit. We love the frost free feature. The unit was easy to set up & run. The delivery went well and the deliverymen were wonderful considering it was pouring down rain when they arrived.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LOUD freezer We bought this freezer to replace one that had a meltdown. This is the LOUDEST freezer I have ever heard. We put in the laundry room where the other unit was and it will keep you awake at night. It cycles on and off frequently. We have placed rubber pads under the legs of the unit which has reduced some of the noise. I would not recommed this unit unless you are putting it in the garage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features & ROOOOMY interior! Replaced old manual defrost freezer trying to comit suicide any day now - This freezer is barely any LARGER on the outside - but packs LOTS of BRILLIANTLY lit room inside it's spacious interior! Love the slightly deeper door shelves & monster bottom pull-out basket - tho wish it didn't slip out nearly as slickly as it can if you're not careful. Love the HIGH TEMP warning beep telling me to SHUT the DOOR now! Compressor is a wee bit NOISIER than I'd like - but I don't sleep in the same room with it & it doesn't "thrummmm" very often - so no biggie! Overall - VERY WELL WORTH it's PRICE for the FEATURES & storage capacity!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far - so good - as advertised We originally had done research on costs and bought via an old fashioned on-site visit to ABC Warehouse to buy a similar freezer - it was not a GE model, but instead a Frigidaire model. The store mixed up our delivery date then had us waiting for hours and then had to re-schedule weeks later and it just went downhill from that. We ended up canceling our order. We did further internet reserach and bought on-line the current GE model via The Home Depot. The freezer is just as advertised - over-all size, quality, noise levels, etc. We got a white 13.7 c/f frost free freezer. The unit was delivered right on time and set up in about 5 minutes. We let the unit run for 2-3 days to be safe and then filled it up. Everything seems to be chilled just right with no issues. The unit came to us undamaged and required only a simple plug into the wall to work. All the codes were set so, we were off and running with just a quick adjustment to the legs on the units for leveling purposes. We read the manual and sent back the registration card as requested. We did not spend the money on an extended warranty and hope we won't regret it. Hopefully, the unit is made to last. We have our unit in the garage and can check on it daily as we park our cars in here. We unload frozen groceries right into the freezer so, it's super convenient and we don't have to haul extras upstairs into our house. We do not notice any noise at all - it seems fine to us. Perhaps in a house where it is much quieter it could be an issue, but not for us. We feel the interior is very roomy and fits everything you can imagine -dairy, frozen veggies, meats, breads, deserts, etc. We spent only $7.00 more purchasing on-line versus the site and store visit noted earlier. The priceThe Home Depot offers is super competitive - we felt it beat everyone else out. Some places had lower prices, but delivery charges (often between $50-75) increased the final numbers to a higher level. The Home Depot had no extra delivery charge and that made all the difference. We said what day/time we wanted delivery to happen and it went off without a hitch. I am beginning to like not having to deal with TERRIBLE SERVICE PEOPLE. The internet is where it's at IF things go well. They did here. We have only had the freezer for a few weeks and hope to save long term with sale items, bulk purchases and more home cooking/freezing so, we expect to be happy long term. So...so far, so good. I would give 5 stars on quality/value if we had the unti 1-2 years and could evaluate farther out. For now, I'll give 4 stars with what we had experienced so far. The quick on-line ordering, delivery, set up and final use went flawlessly. I would recommend this freezer model and Home Depot on-line processing without question at this time.
