Hello,
Thanks for contacting us and for your interest in our GE dishwashers. This is Alison and I am happy to help.
Model number GLDA690PWW requires a cut out height of 34 ½ plus or minus ¼ of an inch.
What makes a GE dishwasher ADA compliant is that these dishwashers are equipped with controls positioned within arm’s reach (between 15 and 48 inches above floor). These controls allow easy, one-hand operation, with no more than five lbs. of pressure. Inside, all racks are designed for easy front access.
I checked our ADA compliant models and the minimum height requirement I found to install a GE ADA dishwasher is 32 7/20" minimum. Therefore it will not fit under a counter that is 32 inches.
I hope this information is helpful.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Alison at GE

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Too small The salesman helped me find this on the Home Depot website after not finding what I wanted in the store, so in the products defense, I never saw it in person until it was installed in my kitchen. Well, it's very, very small inside. The top rack holds 10 less glasses than my old dishwasher and I can't get a 5 quart pot and a large strainer on the bottom rack at the same time. Just guessing, but I'd estimate the top rack to be about a 26" square. Not nearly big enough for a family of 6. However, it looks very nice, the stainless steel tub is what I wanted and it washes just fine. For a small family or people who don't do a lot of cooking and eating at home, this would probably be just fine. I just wish that I could return it, but I've already payed for the installation once and don't really want to do it again. August 4, 2010
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely small I had an 18 year old dishwasher that finally gave up. I ordered this one because my counter was only 33 1/2 inches high. I cant put a big skillet in it because the rack slots are too narrow and the size is so small. It will handle about 1/3 of the dishes my old one used to hold.. Im disappointed. It cleans well, but I wouldnt recommend. May 23, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Features Appear to be nice. Acquired from son. Do not know how to turn dishwasher off. Leak from bottom- not from upper seal; unable to obtain info relevant to this Model. Proper info & functioning would give product better rating. December 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by does what is expected. ADA requirement forces buyer to purchase more expensive unit. Having to have an ADA compliant unit forces the buyer to purchase this grade of dishwasher. The less expensive units are not ADA. So, even though the unit is of decent quality, there is a feeling of being forced to purchase something you don't want to. There is no reason not to have ADA compliant units in the less expensive levels. Some of the plastic parts are useless, like the silverware holders or the stemware holders. The upper shelf is limited in adjustment. Overall the unit works, and we are on our second DW of the exact same model, and the previous unit worked without a hitch for 5 years. October 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mostly pleased with purchase cleans dishes very well. nice stainless steel tub. only wish it was able to hold more dishes than the old dishwasher that it replaced. January 31, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Please don't buy this dishwasher I bought it when Home Depot had a special going during the holidays, and it just doesn't clean dishes well at all. Even though the instructions say don't pre-wash your dishes, you have to if you want them to be clean. We've had three repairmen out, and they all say the water inside this dishwasher cannot stay hot enough because there's no heating element to keep the water hot, and if you don't have hot water, you don't get clean dishes. We even use the hot start feature to no avail. I sincerely wish we had selected another dishwasher. June 10, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by works well so far Seems to work fine overall though the "heated dry" feature does not work as well as our previous dishwasher (and older GE model). Also, Home Depot should be more careful when they provide the install kit parts -- it turned out that the hose that they made me buy as being required for the installation would NOT work with this dishwasher model, so I was lucky that the Home Depot delivery guy pointed that out to me and gave me the right elbow connector and dishwasher hose instead (many thanks to him!). August 25, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice appliance I am in love with this new dishwasher. We've been a year without one, and we've had this one only a week. We bought a Maytag stainless interior one and Home Depot was kind enough to take it back as we did not like it. We figured out what to look for: dba sound was not a huge issue as there is no set standard, it needs to vent in the front (many do not and then it makes it "quieter" and the dishes are wet) and the other feature was no "soil sensor". That last one just seems like one more thing to break and it can make the cycle run too long. THis one is quiet, cleans OK, actually good, and the heating element does dry it OK too. No dishwasher is going to do the magic we want, but this one is fantastic so far! It is a bit smaller size inside, nice stainless inside though. I October 13, 2009
