Hello MMM - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This range does not have a downdraft exhaust fan. The oven is vented in the center of the backsplash area. This will cause that area of your cooktop to feel warm and may even seem to be turned on. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Will I be able to light the burners in a power outage?

The manual says there is an auto-lock option and "memory is retained after a power outage." I am guessing that means the burners cannot be manually lit during a power outage. Thank you.

In the real world, what this means is that, when converted to LPG, the upper burners lose most of the adjustment capabilities that make gas oven such a pleasure. The flame will adjust over only the last 1/2 to 1/3 of the knob's travel. The same pressure difference causes the ovens to heat unevenly. Baking a frozen pizza, for example, one side will be burned; The other will be barely cooked. Rotating the foods while cooking helps, but is a pain. Read Less

Customer Reviews

6.7 cu. ft. Double Oven Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 570.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inferior Product, Awful Customer Care. Do Not Buy. We purchased the entire suite of GE Cafe Appliances for our kitchen remodel four years ago. The products look great but each is of inferior quality. The range, which is just four years old, has failed. First the control panel blew out, now the bottom oven won't work. I believe that a $2,500 range should last more than four years, but the reps at GE Consumer Care don't agree, and fall back on the fact that the product is out of warranty. So I've had to take multiple days out of work to deal with an appliance that doesn't work. It's totally unacceptable.I would not recommend buying this product. Yes, the design is nice, but the quality, and lack of customer service is absolutely horrible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would give it a zero if that was an option. We purchased this stove for a remodel. It arrived DOA... Would give it a zero if that was an option. We purchased this stove for a remodel. It arrived DOA. Almost no pressure at the burners. Have had GE repair out twice, they insist that the problem is my gas line. Tested the pressure today and it is fine. Customer service is absolutely horrible. They reluctantly ordered a new regulator - and only after I told them to order the part or take the stove with them. We'll see if it works after the third service call.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE it i have had this range for 6-8months and love it. i would never go back to anything other than gas. the stove is very heavy duty and perfect for what i wanted. everyone that has seen it has commented on how nice it looks too. my husband ok'd for me to order a bigger range like this but i could not justify paying 7k+ for a range. this one has an awesome look and so easy to clean. i will say the lower oven is useless as it takes way too long to preheat. when i have just one small dish to cook i use a counter top conv oven instead. my only other complaint is i wish the timer and preheat beeper was a tad louder but def not a deal breaker. i read endless reviews on all types of ranges so wanted to take the time to write this one on how happy i am with my purchase. i would buy it again tomorrow! also, in the pics below the side of the range exposed was black. i painted it grey to match cabinets. yes, you can paint metal. it is perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Stuff is Awesome!!!!! So i had a microwave that hadnt cleaned in at least a year. Gross i know. Every time i looked in there i dreaded the thought of cleaning it. As you can tell in the before pictures (top and bottom left) it was a disaster zone. But with this magic stuff it wasn't even fives minutes til my microwave looked like new. I sprayed it in there and waited two minutes. I wiped it down worth a soft sponge and then dried it. And now look at that microwave!! :) Now on to my range, I'm writing this review as I'm cleaning. So far I'm letting it sit for five minutes because there is a ton of grease splatter. Five minutes are done. So i use the sponge and paper towel. This stuff is awesome!! Take a look at the before and after pictures. Top and bottom left are before. Top right is in the process and bottom right is after (keep in mind the brown/black rings around the burners are scorch marks, they can't be cleaned off). I love love love this stuff!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lower Oven Quit- DO NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY!!! Purchased 2 years ago, and the lower oven hasn't worked in a month. We've had it repaired by a Sear's professional two times in the last month. Oven kept blowing the circuit breaker, so we paid an electrician to put the stove on it's own breaker. Just repaired on Tuesday, first time we tried to use it, blew the circuit breaker, and lower oven AGAIN no longer works. We've had 2 igniters replaced in the last month out of WARRANTY and now need a 3rd igniter replacement!! Obviously something beyond the igniter is a bigger problem. DO NOT BUY THIS RANGE!!! This HIGH priced range should last for many years, NOT 2!!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Huge waste of money! I bought this range oven 2 years ago. The first week of installation the lower oven stopped working. I was told it was a problem with a digital sensor. Within a year the lower oven started to act weird like shutting off on its own. When the technician came he could not find anything wrong with it. He "rebooted"the oven. Now less than 2 years of purchase the lower oven stopped working. Now I have to deal with being out of the warranty issues!! If I bought a much cheaper oven it would have worked so much better I have no doubt.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty and broken twice in less than 4 years I will be looking to replace my less than 4 year old oven. Twice now, the deflector pan has warped and ruined the ignitor for the bottom gas oven (coincidently both times on a day when I was having holiday company). The first time GE took care of the issue, I will see what happens this time whenever they get back to me. Very disappointed in this obviously faulty oven.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Double Oven I searched long and hard for the perfect range for our new home. Through much research we decided on the GE CAFE double oven. Well let me tell you: the range has a lock feature where the kids are not able to turn the oven on or the eyes. The LOCK feature turns off the gas so when the little ones are playing with the knobs or board no gas will turn on PERIOD. I can rest a sure my grandchildren CAN"T turn on any parts of the oven. YAY!!!! I love the double oven because it allows me to bake at the same time in one part and cook any meat in the larger oven. Greatest feature your bake goods don't taste like the meat you are baking. Imagine that :) When you cook in the smaller oven, the only oven that heats up is the smaller oven. That's a savings on my gas bill. It work so great I had to put my toaster oven in storage. Those of you who enjoy cooking, you'll love the grates that allow you to use large pots n skillets to cook at the same time. You will get a treat purchasing this oven. I have no complaints. I enjoy cooking again.
