Will I be able to light the burners in a power outage?

The manual says there is an auto-lock option and "memory is retained after a power outage." I am guessing that means the burners cannot be manually lit during a power outage. Thank you.
Asked by: MissT
You can light the burners, but not the ovens.

I live off the grid and have battery power. Does the juice turn off once the burners light? Does it turn on and off? Otherwise, I assume it just uses juice for clock, etc.?
Asked by: Camper
Hi Camper- This is Sue at GE Appliances. It's exciting to hear of your interest in our restaurant-inspired Cafe Series! The automatic pilotless ignition (also called automatic electric or automatic electronic ignition) saves energy by eliminating the task of lighting the burners. It also saves money by using 30% less gas than a standing pilot range. Because this system has no standing pilot light, no gas is being used unless it is needed. With the spark igniter system, electricity simply sparks when control is turned to the LITE position. Gas is simultaneously released and ignites when it comes in contact with the spark. The glow bar in the oven will cycle on and off with the oven temperature. We hope this is helpful. Also, if you need a venting system, check out our GE CAFÉ™ SERIES OVER-THE-RANGE OVEN WITH ADVANTIUM® TECHNOLOGY CSA1201RSS equipped with cooktop lighting and three-speed, 300-CFM venting system to quickly move smoke and steam up from the cooktop. Keep in touch!

What is the Maximum BTU Output so proper gas line sizing can be done.
Asked by: JR
I am also looking for this info. It appears a single burner is 20,000 btu. Our inspector told us this was far to little of an estimate for this stove. Currently we are adding all of the burners up to 60,000 btu, but I cant confirm if this includes the oven.

6.7 cu. ft. Double Oven Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 624.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but install could be a problem I love the look and feel of this stove. It's gorgeous, works very well and is the jewel in the kitchen. That said, the architecture of the back panel leaves something to be desired. Our gas supply line came out of the floor on the right side of the stove cavity, but this particular unit is designed only for the gas line to come out of the floor on the left. We had to pay a guy to come out and move our gas line out of the way on order to not have a 4-6" gap behind the stove. Even so, we have about a 1" gap today, and that's after installing a recessed outlet to get the plug out of the way. You may want to check the placement of your gas line before purchasing.

As several of the previous reviews state, their customer service is awful! I purchased this range in March of 2015, worked great up until November 2016 (Right before Thanksgiving!). We have replaced the igniter 4 times in the last 3 months. GE has no answers as to why it might be doing this and has graciously offer to discount a new range for me. Are you kidding? I already spent my hard earned money on one of your piece of garbage appliances! Lesson learned!!

I love love love the look of this oven and when it works, it's pretty good. HOWEVER...I've had to replace the ignitor, the main motherboard (if that's what it's called), the regulator (or something)...all in all I've had at least 9 service calls. I've had the oven for almost 2 years - but the problems haven't stopped. They were nice in extending the 1 year warranty for an extra year, but after still having problems, the customer service person responsible for my latest case stopped responding to me. Incredibly frustrating for the price!

Have never been able to use yet...GE repairman came out to look at my brand new appliance and ordered the part. Came to install new part the next week; He could not install the part; stripped screws , bent other parts, and left me with an even more damaged stove. It's going on a month that i have had brand new broken appliances (dishwasher also broken). Time for Home Depot to make this right! Ge says home depot should replace, Home depot says GE should replace!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hot vent when operating oven The vent at the back of the range is venting hot air directly into the kitchen. Its as if the oven door is open a crack, this airflow even moves paper towels on the roll near the oven. The actual vent itself is hot to the touch and melted the plastic of the Tupperware NEAR the vent.

Kept shorting out and tripping a breaker. Looks like this happened to some reviewers below as well. Took a month for GE to get the part and the technician together. Part was back ordered a month- perhaps because this is a common issue? Entire circuit board was replaced this week, and 2 days later the stove is broken again. The technician has been out 3 times in a month and a half and still hasn't fixed it. If you need a stove that works, do not buy this stove!

I wish there was a zero Stove was purchase Dec. 23/15 Beginning in late Oct/16 it started to blow the breaker... my mistake was thinking that it was my electrical service. It quit completely Jan/17... two weeks out of warranty. I have been without ovens for over 2 months, waiting for yet another service man to try to get this piece of junk working. We are lighting the stove with a lighter. Looks pretty, but I purchased it as more than a decoration.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inferior Product, Awful Customer Care. Do Not Buy. We purchased the entire suite of GE Cafe Appliances for our kitchen remodel four years ago. The products look great but each is of inferior quality. The range, which is just four years old, has failed. First the control panel blew out, now the bottom oven won't work. I believe that a $2,500 range should last more than four years, but the reps at GE Consumer Care don't agree, and fall back on the fact that the product is out of warranty. So I've had to take multiple days out of work to deal with an appliance that doesn't work. It's totally unacceptable.I would not recommend buying this product. Yes, the design is nice, but the quality, and lack of customer service is absolutely horrible.
